I saw one wr crossing downfield from the left, wide open, but Nico had already been flushed out. I think he saw him at the last second, but it was too late. I think Nico ended up getting 4-5 yards on the run though.Bingo. We didn’t have any breaks. This loss sucked more due to the abc coverage too.
Not that it matters but after watching several people break down film it seems that Nico is flushed out opposite of where he needs to be.
We see receivers open deep at times and Nico is always being forced to the opposite side of the field.
we had a couple things slow down our momentum early. If we got out to a bigger lead early, it would have completely rattled Beck. Maybe they still come back but we could have really put a lot of pressure on early and neutralized the crowd.I said in the Braves thread during the game, the fact that we weren't up more after the first quarter was a problem.
We easily should've had 17 if not 21 points. The fact that it was only 10 wasn't a good sign.
Good. Finally an early game. I really do wonder if practicing in the evening would've helped us with all the late games this year. Seemed like morning practice really paid off at LSU in '22. . . that + we were pretty good in '22. . . I wish '22 had the '24 defense.Kick-off for TENNESSEE vs Vanderbilt game is high NOON on ABC.
3 scores, they're even more pass happy. We could use our pass rush specialist. At 10 you still have to play the run. Also at a 3 score lead we could've leaned on the run which is this team's strength.we had a couple things slow down our momentum early. alas
Its like we had one resolute game plan. Once UGA y adjusted, there was no change. We will not be denied out plan of attack, win or lose!!we had a couple things slow down our momentum early. hopefully we will get another shot at a great opponent and our team can prove their worth3 scores, they're even more pass happy. We could use our pass rush specialist. At 10 you still have to play the run. Also at a 3 score lead we could've leaned on the run which is this team's strength.
I don't disagree. We needed to bring more pressure at a minimum, especially since Carter, Telander, Perry, and Smith aren't offering anything in coverage. To me it looked like UGA y was running different variations of the exact same play. Not only did we not stop it, we werent within 5-10 yards of it at times.
Tim Banks got his pants pulled down around his ankles. Same for Halzle.
We have statistically one of the best defenses in the entire nation this year. We've given up more than 19 points once all season. We have 2 losses this year. In those two losses, we scored 14 points and 17 points, and fans are bitching about our defense.Against UGA we sure looked it. Additionally, I dont think they've played great in last 3 games. Granted there are far bigger concerns.
they didn't give us many options while we were on defense because they ran tempo, so we couldn't rotate DL and bring in creative packagesIts like we had one resolute game plan. Once UGA y adjusted, there was no change. We will not be denied out plan of attack, win or lose!!
Have a feeling new LB coach is going to bring in some snipers.I don't disagree. We needed to bring more pressure at a minimum, especially since Carter, Telander, Perry, and Smith aren't offering anything in coverage.
Those guys combined are giving up a NFL passer rating of ~110-115 when targeted. It was about 135 on Saturday. Pili was allowing about 80 before he went down and he was our only decent cover LB.
Eh, my take on it isn't as positive.hopefully we will get another shot at a great opponent and our team can prove their worth
I'll give it to Kirby and his staff, they do make great adjustments.
I would hope that by the next time we play someone with UGA-tier athletes, that we approach it differently. There were some offensive drives that stalled out where you're pulling out your hair. Not a great night for LBs and safeties either, but who has the TEs UGA does?
Very good point. I don’t know why the offense sucks. And it does. It’s not good. It’s got good parts but it’s not working. Well good enough parts to score more than 20 on the regular. We have statistically one of the best defenses in the entire nation this year. We've given up more than 19 points once all season. We have 2 losses this year. In those two losses, we scored 14 points and 17 points, and fans are bitching about our defense.
Point shaving? What the hell are you talking about? It sounds like you're throwing around a term without having a clue what it means. We have to make it too big to rig, simple as that. Point shaving is not a exact science and like any fraud can be overcome with overwhelming volume. We have to be so good that there's nothing that can be done. Take it out of the officials' hands. In the big money games we have very little margin for error. It requires that we burn the corruption a time or two and they will go back to being happy with even money on both sides and keeping the juice. Make it to risky push it all in and use us as a big payday.

We can't block long enough to take shots, and when we do Nico is over throwing them.It really seems like our offense is missing receivers winning 50/50 throws. Is that because our receivers aren't capable or because Nico isn't taking the risk? Maybe they don't make those plays in practice, so Nico doesn't chance it in games...or maybe Nico is trying too hard to avoid interceptions? Bru seems to be a guy that can make a contested catch and Brazzell was the guy who could high point the ball at his last school. I'm just wondering if we're not taking enough shots once we cross the 50 yard line. Also, I like what Kitzelman and Staes have brought to the offense, but Ethan Davis is the most athletic TE...maybe use him to attack the middle of the field.
