I think he defended us this summer because he had to. If we were told no or doing something bad, then UGA, Bama and others would be taken down as well. He did that to protect his own self interests.

The more SEC teams that get in, the better the look for the conference. The better the chance an SEC team wins it. The better the chance to get more $. It’s not hard. He will fight for as many teams that can get in as possible regardless of how he feels about us.

We’ll see as we get closer to the final rankings release. It doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to go on tv and radio making the case for certain teams in the conference to be in the playoff as of now with regular season games still to be played and lots of potential dominos to fall.
