*funny story: yesterday, somehow my pocket deleted my gallery download folder. I was able to find them and restore them before they got permanently deleted. 2300 gifs, memes, and old family pictures were almost gone. I was so mad at my pocket. 😱
It was me. I hacked in, downloaded them and deleted them. . . I didnt think you'd notice so soon.

They aren't an expansion team. I think the Lakers were originally from Detroit and then moved to Minneapolis (that's why they are called the Lakers) and then to LA.
Sorry, but the Lakers were not one of the original 11 members. They are, by definition, an expansion team. They were like a Detroit rec team in 1946 but history shows their official start was 1947 in Minneapolis. Screenshot_20241120_133303_DuckDuckGo.jpg

Only thing Boston has greater than L.A. is the Clam Chowder..

Boston still sucks fwiw..

I don’t think we get in. I know we need just one thing to happen from a whole list of scenarios but we’re Tennessee…

How do they leave the Vols out if it’s about money then? We are the most loyal and one of the most well travelled group of fans in the country.
because it's about TV, not ticket sales

I didn't say that they are looking for ways to keep Tennessee (specifically) out of it, just that they are working backwards from a list of (their) desired outcomes.

So worrying about what has happened on the field, and rankings, and strength of schedule, most deserving vs best team. That does not matter.

The smoke shops in his area are gonna be sold out of vapes and whippets for months. . .

If he didn’t rug pull, then he would have made 1.2 million, but without him pulling the rug it wouldn’t be where it’s at now.

The crypto community got pissed after and ended up pumping the coin to the moon. That was their revenge.

Oh everyone talked about how great the playoffs would be. How much easier it will be for us to get in. Parity is coming blah, blah, blah. This playoff system is an absolute joke. Along with pay to play, free agency and the dumb transfer portal rules, college football is becoming a joke.
It is great. So many more teams have buy-in late into the season and a TON of games matter down the stretch, rather than 1 or 2. It's fun as hell. In the BCS era we'd already be talking what mid bowl we'd be hoping for (we'd be on the outside of a NY6 bowl due to conference alignments).

And it IS much easier for us to get in. 12 teams vs 2 lol. Of course it's easier. We're headed there as we speak, just win baby.

Tennessee is not a huge draw nationwide like Alabama and Texas are. We have a very loyal and rabid fanbase that spends ridiculous time and money but that doesn't translate outside the South really. Teams like Michigan, Ohio St, Penn State, Oregon, USCsr, have big followings throughout the country. That includes the South because half of their population has moved here. That translates into tv ratings.
Even back in '98 the there were tv people who were unhappy that Tennessee was in the BCS championship game because they thought interest in the game would be less aka tv ratings. They would have much prefered FSU vs OSU. And the money is far bigger now,

Never thought I'd see the day when I cheered for Sunbelt Billy and Hugh Freeze in the same weekend, but here we are.
I think ole Sunbelt Billy, aka Bubble-Screen Billy, has finally got his cleats in the dirt. They may be a decent team next year. I'd say he gets them in the top20 with that QB, maybe higher.

Sorry, I wasn't sure. I thought you meant like more recent expansion. I just remember my Nana who was a huge Lakers fan telling about them.

The problem isn't the system, it's the rules put around the system. It's not setup for the 12 best teams to get in. The only way to truly get the 12 best teams is 0 AQ spots which will never happen.

Damn Knoxville for having low cost of living. All fans decided to stay in one spot.

Some of us need to take one for the team and move to different states so we can have that national following.

COME ON GUYS DO YOUR PART AND MOVE

I'm of the opinion that the playoffs should be 16 teams, just so no one gets a bye. And there should be NO automatic bids. Take the top 16 teams, regardless of conference. And maybe use the BCS or some other formula where the decisions aren't made by a tainted committee.
I'm for all of this.

Auto bids and byes are stupid. But keep round 1 home games. Your reward for a great season is only having to play #16 at home.

I think it'd be awesome.
