Chip Howard…..wow. Very good athlete. Played ball with his brother (Bruce) at Bearden. They spent their early years in the same neighborhood I was in (in Rocky Hill). Remember Evans Collins Field well.Played one football game across the fence in Evans Collins stadium as a 5th grader. It was the culmination of a season of training with G.R. Lebo (I think it was). Kids from all over town converged on fields behind Sequoyah Elementary school.
Chip Howard was my QB, before he transferred from Bearden to Webb and dropped back a year. Repeated a year after probably having straight A’s. An injury ended my career only slightly before my lack of speed and athleticism did. I entered my Sr year at 5’7” and maxed out at 6’3” during my SO yr in college. Never did hit that handsome phase! Still hoping.
I fail to see how your story was funny. Have you been taking comedy lessons from @drvenner ? I'd ask for a refund.Funny story I recently told my kids. Growing up in the 90's we did have enough money to buy nice shoes. So, once per year I got a new pair, usually right before school started. Momma or Mawmaw always made me get the cheapest pair Wal*Mart had, and that happened to be Sketchers. They were not cool. I got made fun of a lot, but it didn't bother me. I already knew life was more than money, and Iiked to joke around. It's funny to me that they are somehow cool now, but in the 90's they weren't. Weird how fashion trends go
Yeah, and even though lawyers are involved, I can’t imagine that information will be privileged. So the NCAA will be aware of every offer in detail before it is made? NCAA pets are going to have an incredible advantage when that information is leaked.
That isn’t going to fly, they courts have already ruled on this. The clearinghouse would never get done and no doubt would be bias on approval. This will go to court if they try it. The clearinghouse has always been a turtle paced mess. The ncaa isn’t trying to get better, it looks like they are looking at ways to hold folks up. Nobody trust them, all this is shady six ways till Sunday. So the NCAA will be aware of every offer in detail before it is made? NCAA pets are going to have an incredible advantage when that information is leaked.

Went to the Keys a couple days to catch lobster and 32 pages deep in a crisp new thread.

No doubt, it’s not like they are the only governing body solution. It’s obvious the clearinghouse would give them cart Blanche on slowing certain players and schools down. The clearinghouse has always been historically slow as a turtle, what makes anybody think that will change. This can’t happen. GBOThe NCAA is a glutton for punishment. If they continue to keep this crap up, the SEC and Big Ten should explore non-NCAA options.
