When I lived in Ga ,those people hated WM when he was DB coach and I thought they were just complaining like all fan bases and I started to pay some attention and they were right. Their DBs looked just like ours right now. Then he got promoted to DC and that was a train wreck for Ga. I use to laugh at how bad they were on D. Then Butch hired WM and we got burned just like we have since we he has been back,I thought the star position was coached by CWM
I’m frustrated with both then
What’s the point of recruiting talented freshman and not playing them while the older guys continually get beat or make sure tackles 15 yards downfield
You could just portal guys each year at that rate
I know CWM is tied to CJH and I respect that but I also haven’t liked CWM ever
I think there are better CB coaches out there and banks is a pretty good DC but his position coaching is not great imo either
Overall the secondary has left a lot to be desired
Yes the talent was bad at the start but overall it seems to be lacking in improvement of talent and play overall compared to the other positions
I can’t wait for this season but if our dbs keep getting burned in the passing game again it’s gonna be frustrating to watch AGAIN…….
Also I assume you live on Marco island
My parents live in fort myers
I really like that area …fort myers/naples
They have grown up significantly in the last 30 years
Bishop did that without any talent around him and everyone knowing that he was getting the ball. I believe he lead the entire country in rushing his junior year. This got me looking at their HS stats.
Small averaged 8.45 ypc with 25 rush TDs his Sr year.
Bishop 7.61 ypc with 30 rush TDs his Sr year.
Crazy numbers from those two.
No, no worries, I didn't view it as a knock on Jabari Small, and I'm certainly not making an attempt to defend his honor, necessarily. I'm simply trying to determine how your opinion was formed based on a lack of evidence on Bishop's behalf. It sounds based more in hope and projection based on high school production mixed in with a little bit of unqualified camp reports. This wasn't a knock on Jabari. I just think Bishop is that good, if he stays healthy. When Small signed with UT, he was thought to be a packaged deal to get Big O. Very few fans thought he'd ever see the field. You consider Bishop a borderline walk-on, but his recruitment was an oddity. Did you see him play in high school? He was probably the best RB in the state. Like Small, he won't wow you on paper with measurables. But the kid just produced every single week. I know Seldon is out right now, but did you expect Bishop to be running second behind Sampson to start the season? He's coming back from a season ending injury that happened last preseason himself. His name was the first one mentioned by Heupel after Friday's scrimmage, and he was running against our first team defense. I know he hasn't played a single down, but I definitely wouldn't bet against the kid. I think the Jabari comparison is fair. He's come in with zero hoopla and just put his head down and went to work. Sounds like Jabari Small 2.0 to me.
I remember you telling the world Bshop was going to be worn out, coach should be sued Yada Yada Yada. Sit back child and let Bishop show you who he is.No, no worries, I didn't view it as a knock on Jabari Small, and I'm certainly not making an attempt to defend his honor, necessarily. You're right that Small wasn't a major recruiting win, though his offer list was vastly more impressive than Bishop's if we are being honest. Tennessee, Texas A&M, Michigan, Auburn, UNC, Kentucky, Ole Miss, etc. Bishop's best offers were Tennessee, Michigan St, Miss St, VA Tech, and Purdue. Most thought he was headed to Coastal Carolina before opting for Tennessee following a late push.
Small also played against much stiffer HS competition playing for Briarcrest Christian in Memphis. Karns isn't playing a "who's who" kind of schedule against East TN competition. So, while I'm well aware of Bishop's record-setting exploits in high school, it's also fair to wonder what Jabari Small could have done playing for Karns carrying the ball 40+ times per game against the likes of Halls (my alma mater), William Blount, and Campbell County, as well.
It's fine to feel like Bishop could be that kind of player. I guess I just disagree with the automatic assumption that he's destined to be an upgrade. Small wasn't dynamic or supremely talented, but the tangible evidence to support the idea that Bishop is a better version of him isn't there, IMO. We can agree to disagree on that, though. I hope you're right, because that would certainly be a welcomed surprise.

The same things we see on here about WM were the same things the mutt fans were complaining about.
I really don't mean for this to come across the way I'm sure it will, but your eyewitness account doesn't give me any more confidence in Bishop. I don't know you or your scouting abilities. What I do know is that we've never once seen Desean Bishop take a single snap of college football in a real game. Until that happens and he's in there playing meaningful downs against SEC competition, I'll reserve judgement that he is equal or better than the guy who ran for 2100 yds in his career.I’ve seen them both up close and person. Bishop is just as good.
I’m hesitant to comment because Christians arguing in public isn’t a good look and is very seldom productive or helpful winning souls to Christ, so I’m trying to stay away from conversations like this, but….It could be, unless it's humanistic drivel that's all about you. One could argue that it's a form of teaching, thus could be a form of false teaching, thus needs to be tested against the Bible, which has a self-claim that it's not for private interpretation.
So, no. A publicly published devotional claiming to speak for God is not in any way 'just' between a person and God.
Bishop is 5’10 200 and Small was 5’11 206 his second year in the program. He doesn’t know. When has that ever stopped him?
Jabari was damn solid. Didn’t have much wiggle but built like a brick house.
Bishop isn’t very big but seems to be a patient runner with decent instincts. I hope he can be serviceable, bc we’ll need him early. But considering he hasn’t really played meaningful snaps yet, there’s no way you could seriously make this claim.
There isn't any evidence to substantiate my claim just yet. Small had a tremendous career at UT overall, but he never rushed for 800+ yards in a single season. Right now, there isn't evidence to say any RB on the roster will be better than Jabari with the exception of possibly Dylan Sampson. All we can do is project and speculate. The hope is that we have at least 3 RBs currently that are better than Jabari if we're going to compete at a championship level. No, no worries, I didn't view it as a knock on Jabari Small, and I'm certainly not making an attempt to defend his honor, necessarily.
