Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Think the importance of home field advantage can't be underestimated. None of the home teams had a rough game this weekend. Think neutral sites may have been another story. I think we should reduce playoffs to 8 teams and play neutral sites only
I think we would have gotten our asses handed to us even in Neyland. It wasn’t a problem with geography. It was a problem with on field coaching/execution.

It's to the point now that I need to know what is happening in the locker room before we take the field

To go from +10 or +14 in the first quarter, even against the best teams on our schedule, to -10 or -14 in the first half...

That's terrible. The swing has been noticeable and it cost us tonight dearly
It’s not one thing though. Sampson fumbled in 2 games in the first quarter. Tonight, it was a face mask, and we have the ball at our own 40 with a 0-0 game.

Idk man but what I’ve learned in life and in business that being too loyal to friends and trusting them too much can come back to bite you in the ass hard. So Heupel needs to recognize that and make some moves.

wtf are you talking about? Nico is faster, quicker and has more moves. Howard went against a much less athletically gifted defense in the back end than Nico did. Howard literally just ran straight past them.

He looks like a newborn giraffe that doesn’t have the leg strength or coordination to run very well yet

Im tired of the same **** different day when playing top competition, our ol and dl gets whipped every play, wrs dont get seperation and dbs bust coverages. At what point do we say “hey, this is a scheme and coaching problem” for 2 years in a row our ol, wr, and offense in general has been declining.

Our offense has been god awful.

If we go 3 and out or god forbid turn it over, they go stagnant for 20 game minutes. It is unacceptable
I understand, but my point was it’s not one reason for it. Sampson fumbled against Bama and UK after good drives. Tonight, the defense couldn’t get off the field in the first 3 drives.

Wishful thinking would be Halzle coaching QBs exclusively and bring in a OC as Co-OC to call plays and bring creativity to the offense.

The defense took a huge step forward this year. Still need to get to another level with the elite teams but our offense has been steadily declining since Golesh left.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we were embarrassed tonight. If we want to take the next step forward we need to recruit at a higher level and expect more from our gameday coaching. The truth is Heupel seems to struggle against teams with more talent like UGA and OSU. We need to close the talent gap which means not accepting every recruiting outcome as hard as that may seem.

Not sure what to think of Halzle. I'm still not sure who calls the plays, him or Heup? If it's Heup, then it's silly to blame Halzle for the questionable play calling on offense.

I really think we need to replace Elarbee.

I'm good with the RB coach, but I think we need better than Pope to coach our WRs. They struggled mightily this season. At everything. Catching, route running, getting open. We need better.

Have no idea about the TE coach, but he needs to recruit his ass off.
