Samoa comes to mind, lots of great players out of Pacific Island countries. Also, Oregon signed an amazing athlete who's roots are from Nigeria but he was raised in England. He's just learning the basics, Tobi Haastrup, 6'4" 235, DE runs a 10.7 100 meter. Great athlete!!If only there were a foreign country where football is even more popular that we could poach elite players from
Virginia legitimately has NIL money because Serena Williams' husband donated a lump sum specifically for the women's basketball team. He's the co-founder of Reddit.Heard on the Ainge show last week someone told them 19 million.
I'll trust that someone who works for the university and a guy who was our QB are a lot closer to the truth than that list.
Especially since VIRGINIA is ahead of us on that list. No one in Virginia even cares about them right now.
Additionally, Hendon had elite command of the offense. So many bonus yards and scores from catching defenses off guard and lost. He was quick to audible when he noticed a misalignment. Nico doesn't YET have that level of understanding of our offense and opposing defenses to do that. But that will improve. As a high school defensive coordinator there have been several games that i knew 100% of the plays the other team were going to run based on personnel and formation. Some times we stopped them other times we didn't. It all comes down to the players. If the other team has better players there is nothing you can do to stop them.
It just comes down to the fact Tennessee didn't have the players to beat Ohio state.
Heupel hasn't forgotten how to call his offense. He 100% still has everything form 22 in the playback he just doesn't have the dudes to run that.
The offense has adapted and evolved. It's just been focused on the run game. Year 1&2 it was all mostly inside zone. Now it's a ton of gap scheme stuff.
Lots of people tend to forget that Hooker came in with, what 3 years of college experience? Definitely 2 but I want to say 3.Additionally, Hendon had elite command of the offense. Additionally, I think there's some things we haven't done and/or took from the playbook based on personnel and our ability to execute it. Limited in some regards, and some of that comes back to the QB.
None of that is a knock on Nico. He's going to be fine. That's just the nature of having a young QB.
Yes. Nico will take another leap next year.Additionally, Hendon had elite command of the offense. So many bonus yards and scores from catching defenses off guard and lost.
