Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Historically I'd agree with you, but used car prices have really gotten nuts the last few years.

Still, in general, find a slightly used car and you'll get a better deal than a new one.
I thought the last I checked used prices had dropped the last few months. Could be wrong since I’m not on the market and checking constantly

I think people are overlooking NC State. It's a well known fact that our OOC games are with teams that are the best they've been in decades.
That may have mattered under previous coaching staffs littered with dumbassery and copious ineptitude. Heup ain't got time for that mess.

Yes, quite a few actually.

'65 Corvette, '80's Countache, and old 360 Ferrari. All downstairs. Have a Rolls also.

Will send pics if necessary.

Countache isnt in great shape though.

I remember watching a 60 Minutes (IIRC) episode in the early '80s, and they were interviewing the CEO or owner of Lamborghini featuring the Countach.
He told the interviewer that Countach roughly translated means Oh s**t!.
Then proceeded to show him why.
I'd love to drive one of those at least once in my life.

Do any of you have classic cars?
Had an ‘87 Monte Carlo SS, t-top and tan interior. Stolen from me because, well Memphis. Police call me randomly two years later and tell me they found my car in Jackson TN and it’s now at a tow yard. Tried to pick it up for sh*ts & giggles knowing they stripped it, but the detective didn’t release it for two months to “ensure” that it was actually my car and not the suspect vehicle. Once actually released, tow yard owner tell me I have to pay 3k to get it, and that was only good for the same day. So I actually got robbed twice. Left a bad taste in my mouth about doing it again. Tempted to put together an El Camino with my soon to be 13 year old son. Just to pass down that passion to him as well for American muscle cars.

Yeah, I think anyone would have a tough time being the VQ emcee in the group videos/podcasts, especially as a relative newcomer. He doesn't have the commanding presence that's needed to maintain a good flow and that might partially be due to him being a different generation than the veteran guys.
He has 3 decades less experience and connections too. He means the most to them as a tech guy and the least to them as a news source.

Anyone else get the sense that none of the VQ guys actually like Eric Cain? I think he does a pretty good job in his role but there doesn't seem to be much rapport there between him and Hubbs, Rob, and AP. Maybe it's just the format of the mailbag and roundtable videos but it seems like there's a lot of awkward silence after he says stuff.
He seems arrogant and fake to me. Who knows though, never met the guy

Your story reminded me of Joe Dirte 😂. That sucks.

El Caminos are cool cars. If I were to get a classic, I'd like to find a '58 Rocket 88 or '58 98 continental. Probably my dream cars as far as classics go.

That e46 was meant to be a project for my son and I. He never took to it. I will say it is not a fast car, but a very very fun car to drive fast. Best handling car I ever owned.
The e36 I had was a 2 door. It had a chip and exhaust. Was only about 220hp, but it was quick. The way they handle is insane. . . until you hit a wet spot, 😂

I drove an '86 or '88 Lotus Esprit V8. Wicked little car. I imagine a Countach would drive about the same. I'd love to have an old Lotus Esprit. I think I like them mainly because it was the most affordable car that actually looked like a higher end supercar of the time.

Edit: actually, I cant remember if it was a V8 or a turbo.
