Im not overly concerned on the value of it as long as it is a good vehicle that will last me a while. Used cars are not that much cheaper than new now a days, plus I love the way the 2024 tacoma trd sport looksTo each their own. You take the biggest hit on depreciation when you buy new. You also reduce your buying power significantly. My recipe has been to buy a much nicer or better equipped version of the same car with lower miles about 5-7 years older. You can easily find cream puffs that will last 2 decades let alone 1. If nothing else buy certified pre-owned or off lease. They always come with warranties.
If you have to have new stick to Toyota or Honda, but not CVT.
Anyone else get the sense that none of the VQ guys actually like Eric Cain? I think he does a pretty good job in his role but there doesn't seem to be much rapport there between him and Hubbs, Rob, and AP. Maybe it's just the format of the mailbag and roundtable videos but it seems like there's a lot of awkward silence after he says stuff.
Daily drivers are a ‘07 Highlander and a ‘10 CRV. Both fantastic in their own right. Just hit 150k on the Highlander, and ready for the next 150k.Honda or Toyota and you really cannot go wrong. Both companies make good long lasting vehicles.
That Super Coupe is a classic imo. I love those cars. A lot faster than you'd think.I'm getting a 1969 GTO soon and have a 1989 Thunderbird SC (not quite classic, but getting close).

Thinking about getting a new car/truck, since the one I drive now is the only truck I’ve ever had, since I was 15. Looking into either getting a Civic or Corrola if I get a sedan, or a Tacoma-colorado-silverado if I get a truck. Any recommendations or opinions on any of those?
For me it really depended on the value. For example, I bought my VW Golf brand new because used in the range I was looking for (2-3 years) was either about the same or just 1k or 2 less, in some cases slightly more, than what I was going to be able to purchase new for. I got mine close to the model year change at a high volume dealer outside of Atlanta. I was able to get mine for about 17.5 whereas the same car in Tennessee was running around 22-23k. If you are willing to drive or travel, it pays to look out of state.Besides the car/truck losing value, what are some other reasons to buy used over new? Genuinely curious, im trying find the best option go go with
Making your dollar count. How often does a new vehicle have a factory recall? For instance Tundras have issues with Turbo Charged engines. Buying later model year allows for T&E. I cant live in upside down world.Besides the car/truck losing value, what are some other reasons to buy used over new? Genuinely curious, im trying find the best option go go with
I mean, that's the only reason lol. It loses a ton of value when you drive it off the lot. At least that's always been the case, though I'm not sure how wide the gap is now.Besides the car/truck losing value, what are some other reasons to buy used over new?
