Recruiting Football Talk VIII

K - been thinking about Regular Season & Playoff football games/schedules:
All teams - 10 regular season games + 2 byes = 12 weekends
(2025) Start regular season August 30 and end regular season November 15
Conference championships November 22
16 teams make Playoffs - no byes, no gimme conference champs - based on top 16 at end of regular season

1st round (all teams play - 8 games, neutral fields (”bowl games”) all December 6
2nd round (4 games, neutral fields (”bowl games”) all December 13
3rd round (2 games, neutral fields (“bowl games”) all December 20
Championship Game, neutral field (bowl game) January 3

Would be like March Madness, almost like two seasons. Regular season play for conference championship and being in top 16. Playoffs - play for national championship.

14 (or 15 if conference champ game) total games
I think Pros play 17 regular season games…do they have any byes in regular season?

Thoughts….GO!
The reality is that coaches would not have 3 or 4 weeks to prepare for their opponent and sloppy play may become commonplace. Upsets may happen and the TV gods would not be happy. After all--TV ratings pay all the bills. Just my humble thoughts

You blame it on the fans. Well where's the big money donors at?

Oregon has Phil Knight
Texas has the Oil Men
Hell Virginia got a tremendous amount of money from Serena Williams husband.

Fans can only give so much of their income and many can't, call out the big wheels before the average fan..

Not sure if it's been posted here, and for those who may not go into the player threads as much, sounds like Osenda fell in love with the program, and that a large part of his commitment was due to Elarbee's development and the relationship he'd created with Osenda.

Our keyboard coaches must be really pissed reading this
