This. ZZ can hit the three when he’s got time to set and release with space. Him firing threes off the dribble or quick catch and shoot is not a recipe for success.Dubar shot 40% from 3 the last 2 seasons. He can make those. Would be awesome if he’d start doing so.
But If anybody took too many, it was ZZ. I’d add him going 1-11 from 3 as a negative. And someone that Pope prob wanted shooting. His career 3P% is 32%.
He’s due tho. Shooting 6% from 3 over the last 2 games (1-17) and is 2 for his last 20 from downtown.
He's a true freshman who is dealing with a banged up shoulder
And there's only 1 guy available on the bench (Gainey) that plays ahead of him.
Like I said before, didn't expect much and he's still a TBD...but this year specifically would have been a great opportunity to go play minutes. I think he's got upside...
Just had hopes that Bishop would be able to take on more of the 10+ MPG Carr was playing. Instead we've seen ZZ playing even more than he did last year when people were saying "he's playing too many minutes"
I think this is a problem at many places. Rich old fans hate fun.Can we also please for the love of the good lord move all the rich people that sit behind the players bench to behind the basket and put the students behind the players bench.
Those guys are never up and cheering. I get it, y’all are rich and can do whatever but get your ass off the seat and cheer or stay the hell home.
I’m not trying to start anything, just a simple question.
Would Boswell transfer if ZZ comes back? Does he leave if ZZ returns and we snag Mallory?
I have no clue, just wanted your opinion.
I didn’t even think about Mashack and Gainey returning. That would be insane.I don't think Bishop will ever be a pure PG for us. He's far closer to Mashack than ZZ in almost every way.
So honestly Gainey/Mashack coming back might have a bigger impact on Bishop's desire to transfer than ZZ.
HS Scouting report on Bishop:
Bishop Boswell is a big and strong guard. He’s competitive with a physical style on both ends of the floor that creates mismatch problems in the backcourt and allows him to play and defend multiple positions. He’s engaged defensively, should be very switchable at the next level, and also an excellent perimeter rebounder. He sees the floor well and has made notable strides as a passer and creator for others as he continues to develop into more of a lead guard. He has good end-to-end speed with the ball and looks to get downhill whenever he can. His first step isn’t quite as dynamic from a standstill, and so he rarely blows right by a set defender with his first-move in the half-court. Boswell is a capable spot-up shooter with his feet set (35% 3pt in the EYBL on 29-83 shooting), but will want to continue to develop, particularly in the mid-range area where he gets very little elevation into his release when shooting off the dribble. Overall, he continues to trend into a big guard whose size, strength, physicality, and increasing two-way versatility are his calling cards.

Yeah I remember. Still counts! Made the tournament before, I just know they will probably jump the gun and go right to the fahrin.I mean, they only made the tournament last year because they won the ACC tournament. They were like 9th or 10th in the ACC and were HOPING for an NIT bid.
Before the SEC games started, I thought we finally had players that wouldn't disappear for long stretches. on offense.
Believe Igor can come back as well. I think Igor would do much better in a 2nd year with Barnes. Jmo..
We need to get healthy for that to be a possibility...... Think that's a tall order in the meat of the SEC schedule. Tough to do. Hope we can.End of the day, I just want the team to play their best ball in March...
Cause the games where we've seen them do that...
at Louisville, 77-55 held them under 27% FG & 3PT while shooting over 50% FG & 3PT
vs Arkansas, 76-52 held them under 38% FG & under 25% 3PT while shooting 39% FG and 38.5% 3PT
at Texas, 74-70 we shot over 42% from FG & 3PT and held them under 30% from deep...if Tre Johnson doesn't have the game he does they lose that one by 20 he hit 11 of their 26 FGs and 4 of their 7 3s by himself.
