We may only win by a point, but we're not losing this game. We lose this and we have some serious issues in multiple areas, both with coaches and position groups.Oddsmaker on the radio picked NC St OUTRIGHT, not just to cover. He was 9/10 week one, but even with my BVS I can't see us outright losing. Maybe we don't cover in a worst case scenario, but I was floored when I heard that.
Based on what? They don't have one advantage over us. Non-serious, contrarian take imo.Oddsmaker on the radio picked NC St OUTRIGHT, not just to cover. Agreed. I don't see any position unit where they're better than us. Maybe their secondary is slightly better than ours, but it won't matter when McCall has 1 second to get the ball out on every passing play. Meanwhile I think Nico will have plenty of time in the pocket, and when he doesn't, he can make something happen on the ground.Based on what? They don't have one advantage over us. The only analysis that I've seen to defend that has been that their coach is a great defensive mind, and our secondary is new/questionable. Nico is in only his third start, so they may be able to shake him. If anyone can figure out how to shut UT down, it's him...Based on what? They don't have one advantage over us. I mean, Nico had no problem with Iowa's vaunted defense. And that was 8 months and a lot of practices ago. Granted, he didn't torch them through the air but he didn't need to. We may see a similar game tomorrow with Nico connecting on some early deep shots and then the running game taking over. The only analysis that I've seen to defend that has been that their coach is a great defensive mind, and our secondary is new/questionable. Not sure I agree. I don't know that he's scheme-elite enough to overcome the talent differences and pressures that Heupel's offense put on someone.
The thing I hate about it is that it allows for a lot more room for the officials to insert themselves into the game and affect the outcomes . I don't watch the NFL nearly as much as I used to because of the many rule changes have changed the game. NFL is now a glorified 7v7 league. And the corruption makes the NCAA look like Salvation Army. The new kickoff rule will probably create more returns. I don’t know how that’s flag football. They just don’t allow guys to run 60 yards at full speed.
But I know, you want everything to be like the 80’s.
I agree. I'm not worried about this game. NCST will play better than their week 1 performance no doubt. As long as we are beating ourselves I think we pull away in the 2nd half. Jump on early then pull away late in the game. Got us winning by 18.We may only win by a point, but we're not losing this game. It already has in the "Pro Bowl."There is no fallacy in saying the game is getting softer. That is fact. They've eliminated the big hits, gone to great lengths to protect QBs, as "violent" as the game is, it's nowhere near as violent as it once was. There is a clear progression toward more of a flag football approach. Will it ever reach flag football? No idea. But it certainly has progressed in that direction.
He also was protected by practice squad OL on the way to being sacked 6(?) times by those corn-fed fatties and didn’t break in half like I was told would happen.I mean, Nico had no problem with Iowa's vaunted defense.
