Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I had put this deep into the memory bank. I can’t believe how far we’ve come in 5 years.

There was a point in those 2019/20 seasons I had completely given up on this program. I was 100% certain we’d never make it back again.

Thank you Josh Heupel for believing in Tennessee football.
I checked out for almost all of 2020 and didn't watch any games in 2021 until we smoked Mizzou and then South Carolina. That's when I knew we at least had something going, even if it was a Big 12 style offense that might win some shootouts. But Heupel has shown he's committed to building a complete team.

So what’s up with Pearce? He’s been a little more MIA than I figured he’d be so far. Playing cautious because of the draft? Just drawing so much attention from the OL? Or is CJH limiting reps until we need him for SEC play?
I saw Pearce harass NCState all game, maybe I was watching something else?

Good grief,

I will have to suffer through Titans vs Bears in early game on FOX but afterwards it's on like Donkey Kong Cowboys vs Browns.

I may watch Jags vs Dolphins on CBS in early start though.

There were even two PENALTIES you could chalk up to teachable moments but results of this better culture. One was the two OL taking their blocking assignment out of bounds gangsta style and receiving an unsportsmanlike. The other was Pili with the late hit. Regularly that would be an uncharacteristic brain dead moment but it was a misjudgment borne out of aggression finishing off a play. Long way from our OL walking by their fallen QB and not even offering to help him up.
