The CFP committee just dropped UGA from #3 to #12 for losing to #16 Ole Miss on the road. You don't think BYU would drop that far?I believe if a undefeated BYU loses the Big 12 Championship game to a Colorado per say. Then both the Big 12 teams get in, there not kicking a #3 undefeated BYU team down that far for just losing 1 game. That just means the Group of 5 entre will receive a bye. Imo.
I was there. Many people left, but not me. They all came rushing back in thoughNovember 14, 1998
UT - 28
Arkansas - 24
The #10 Arkansas Razorbacks came to Knoxville to face the #1 ranked Vols. Arkansas raced out to a 21-10 halftime lead, that stunned the 106,000 fans. Traded field goals and a Tee Martin td run made the score 24-20.
For twelve minutes, neither team could score. Deon Grant blocked a FG attempt, but UT couldn’t muster points. With 2:54 seconds left, Arkansas attempted a punt, but a high snap led to a safety. Down two, UT couldn’t move the ball and turned the ball over on downs with less than 2 minuets left. Then.....the miracle happened. Clint Stoerner stumbled, then laid the ball on the ground, allowing Billy Ratliff to recover the ball on the Hogs 43 yrd line. Travis Henry took over, running 5 straight times and scoring with 31 seconds left, giving the Vols a 28-24 victory. Henry finished with 32 carries for 197 yrds and 1 huge touchdown!
There will be 4 SEC teams everyone knows this. They would replace Indiana after losing to OSU in a blowout. Someone has to get in .The CFP committee just dropped UGA from #3 to #12 for losing to #16 Ole Miss on the road. You don't think BYU would drop that far?
If it comes down to only 3 SEC teams getting in the CFP because 2 ACC or 2 Big 12 teams get in over a 4th SEC team... Sankey will have a fit and ESPN and the committee knows this.
