Recruiting Forum 90 Day Weight Loss Thread

Wife just left town for a week. So tempted to just be lazy and eat fast food and junk food. Then we go on a cruise at the end of the month.

June is going to be a tough month.

Look at it this way though, you can now grill out as much as you want and whatever you want! Steaks, chicken...all the healthy options to toss on the grill.

You've been brought up...need your start weight, please.

If you want my current weight (today) then it is 194.6 lbs. This past Sunday was 193.0 lbs. Would like to hit 180 lbs.

The current problem for me is my ability to really be picky and hone in my food choices (right now it is not that great). Trying to do my best with what I have.

What specifically are you struggling with? Just sheer will power?

Not at all. Although there are days I do not want to go to the gym. I go anyway. I'm in Taiwan currently. Noodles and pork everywhere with food being a big part of the society so I don't want to be "that guy".
Sheesh. That does make it hard. Just tell them you’re in a volnation weight loss challenge. They’ll understand lol

A bit of a long video, but this is a great video that details a lot of of the nuances about diet and nutrition that may not be clear to lay people who haven't extensively studied chronic pathologies and the relation to diet. What I've Learned is a great channel based on clinical evidence which is filled with redpills and truth bombs that can help to transform your body and life. Training is important, but you can't outtrain a bad diet

Meal planning my man while the wife is out. I know that feeling, believe me. What I do is portion out my food for the week, put it in Tupperware, defrost during the day, and cook my meals when I get home. When me and my better half are apart, I'm on business travel the whole week, we spend our Sunday together at the supermarket and we do our meal prep. We hold each other accountable and it works well for us. That way, we have no temptations.

I'm a huge proponent of low carb diet for weight loss and fat loss. But it's not required to cut out carbs to lose weight. When you're on the road, it's important to be responsible. Just don't overeat, and make sure to exercise. Try your best to calorie count, even if it's just an estimate

Had my dinner about an hour ago after not eating much today. Took down 1300 calories. Hurting.

What did you eat? Too many simple carbs with lead to an insulin spike, which will leave you feeling awful. Too much fiber took after not a lot of food will leave you with lots of gas, and stomach pains. Also, stay away from artificial sweeteners. Those bypass your digestion system all together and sit in the colon and ferment. That leads to gastrointestinal distress.

May I suggest some king salmon with a quinoa salad, served with a vinaigrette? That's a great meal for fat loss. Plus you'll feel full and it's some of the best tasting food on the planet.

That is a good meal suggestion. I do something similar where I bake sockeye salmon with some lemon and place it on-top of a bed of cauliflower rice or broccoli rice. A lot of protein, some good nutrients, and low calorie.

For your previous post, I've been trying to not eat much, but this is the first time in Taiwan so I've been trying things. Now that I have tried a bit I will be pulling back and doing exercises while here. My meal choices are very limited for lunch and dinner as we get taken out to a place they choose every day.

Good stuff. I've heard that Taiwan has an amazing scene for dumplings, pastries, and amazing noodle houses. Enjoy it, vacation is a time to enjoy yourself, just be smart with your food choices and portion sizes.

Btw the night markets in Taipei are great if you have even the slightest passing interest in tech or electronics

Chicken, cauliflower rice, fiber tortillas, skinny cow, slice of cheese. Cauliflower rice always kind of makes me bloat and uncomfortable. Need to stop eating it.

I bet it's the skinny cow. There's going to be lots of lactose with that. And in the fiber tortillas, that's why you're not feeling great. Everything else is on point though.

Big scene for dumplings, wontons, xinglongbao, shumai, and others like that. If you ever go look up Din Tai Fung. They have places all over Taiwan. Beef noodle is so good, too. I tried a sticky rice ball yesterday...gotta say it wasn't my favorite. I haven't been to a night market yet, but I plan on going to one here very soon. Gotta experience it at least once.

Fasting & Calorie Counting boyz...

Granted if you try to eat clean it makes the calorie counting easier for sure. My biggest problem is with most things I get bored of the same thing so I'm always trying to eat different stuff. The people who turn food into fuel only seem to have the best success at fitness that's sustainable.

Really wish I had a legit juice bar near work, that'd make things a bit easier. Grab one for lunch and keep it under 500 calories and that be that.

Well, I was doing good. We have a "snack drawer" at home for the kids. I may have found my into it.... My sister works at McKee and they went to visit this weekend. They came back with some good stuff. haha
