I would love Gruden, but anyone that acts like he is the only coach we could hire that could win at TN are crazy.

Gary Patterson, Chris Peterson, Charlie Strong, ect.

All would get it done.

Bama averaged 6.5 yards a carry in the 3rd and only ran the ball 1 time in the 4th so LSU didnt stop them, Bama just stop running.

A&M is definitely a tough matchup. It will be interesting to see how Bama responds. A&M hasnt put up as many points against good defenses (UF,LSU). So we will see.

If TN doesn't show a commitment to fix football quick, fast, and in a hurry there will be a large group of fans that check out. Reading VQ right now is depressing.

I think the Offense is set for awhile. We need to get a coach in here that can recruit big, fast and strong defensive players...and coach the he!! out of em when they get here. Strong fits that bill.

Peterson has not bitten on any offer yet. Every year, teams come at him, and he doesn't even entertain it, to the best of my knowledge. I do not believe Patterson would even glance either. Strong would take a look, IMO.

I know we will most likely pony up the $$, and the roster looks much better than years before, but I am so used to being let down as a fan, I cannot help but think we are going to get some Defensive Coordinator from North Dakota State, or something.

I need a bottle of rootbeer.

Petersen would be the best case scenario IMO (I'd take him over Gruden), but I'd be very surprised if he left Boise to go anywhere.

I could be wrong, but I've heard that Peterson is a Scientologist. He won't be accepted by a good deal of our fan base for that very reason, not that it has anything to do with anything.

I'm 99% that's a myth. He's been confused with an actor by the same name who is a Scientologist. From what I've heard, Peterson is Catholic.

Peterson isn't leaving. I think Patterson is the best option not named Jon Gruden IMO. I'd be ok with Strong, but Smart would be somewhat disappointing to me.

Edit: and if its Petrino, I'd be pissed. JMO

Dooley said today that its a good possibility that Sal is up in the press box for the Mizzou game. DY will be back, and Trevarris Saulsberry has a sprained MCL, so he will be doubtful. He also said Bonner's status has not changed.

I'll give Dooley this, he has tried a lot to get things on track this year. Hopefully, this will yield some results.

I would bring Conklin down and let him coach and adjust. JMO. And I also would leave #9 in at corner. I know he had some boneheaded plays but its so stupid to put a frosh (in his 1st career start) on an island with no help or safety over the top.
