I'm out.

The negativity around here is depressing. I'm gonna take a week or so off from the board fellas. Probably can't stop myself from checking threads, but I'm done posting.

Beat Mizzou! :hi:

I never said Miss. State would beat you. Your defense gave 300+ to LSU. Your D-line isn't as good as the Auburn line their championship year. Also the QB is better this year. Darron Thomas was scared in the championship game. Nico Johnson, Nick Perry, and Sunseri will be exposed again. I do think you all will hurt them with your offense if you make it. They'll catch hell trying to stop the run game. But I'm glad people got to see Bama wasn't on this "untouchable" level.

BTW: send a Thank You card to Chavis for that prevent defense. That's his trademark to end games. :)

Where did I mention anything about Miss St? Auburn defensive line was better based on what? Probably better to compare the front 7s (since we are comparing a 3-4 and 4-3 defense) and that AU defense that gave up over a 100 yards a game on the ground still doesnt compare. You keep forgetting that LSU has been preparing for Bama since spring ball. So its not a surprise that they put up some numbers. I never thought that Bama was so called "untouchable", neither did Saban or the coaching staff, they lost alot of studs off that defense. The media build that up on their own, not to mention Spurrier making dumb comments.

U keep mentioning the prevent defense but they didnt run a prevent defense on that last drive. LSU ran a fake blitz on the 1st play and had tight coverage, McCarron just made a good throw. The 2nd play was tight coverage, LSU blitzed a CB and the WR made a great catch. They did play way off on the 3rd play which was a zone but Mills, the Freshman DB, was out of place. The
4th play was a throw to the end zone. The last play of course was a screen. The biggest mistake LSU made was not helping on Norwood since he was the only experience WR on the field. Cooper and Bell didnt play in the 2nd half.

They were not playing tight coverage. Also Chavis should've left #28 on Norwood. He was locking him up all of the second half. That defense looks like a typical Chavis defense at the end of the game. They could of went and played straight Check 2 Man. Would've ended the game. McCarron is a scary QB. I saw him quit when things weren't going his way.

Its funny my realist Bama buddy says LSU just got stupid and Bama should've lost. Says McCarron isn't a real good QB either. All the Vols fans that were clamoring for this dude after he threw a passes to WRs to guys that butt naked open. I guess now they want the Troy QB too and Connor Shaw. If LSU coaches have been gameplanning since spring ball for you guys what were your coaches gameplanning for? I guess LSU is not a worry these days huh?

IMO, there is a scenario. Cheek is fighting for him because he doesn't want to pay the buyout. And I think they would give him a year extention. Not really a rousing endorsement.

next year the buyout is virtually the same - 4 mil vs 5 mil - so don't see this is a major factor

i do see a way he comes back though - i don't want it to happen but i def see it - forgive me if i am not sold on Hart, i can't find one reason why i should be - the only big hire he has made to my knowledge is Sal and we all see how well that went

Go back and watch the film on the first 2 plays. LSU did get away from some of the stuff they did throughout the game. Bama also made mistakes not caused by LSU. You have to give Bama credit for executing on that drive.
Saying Bama should've lost is like saying Bama should've scored when they fumbled on the 10. They should've scored on the long pass to Cooper and should've kept running the ball since they were gashing LSU instead of abandoning it. LSU should've kicked the FG and been more aggressive in their playcalling on offense in the 4th. They also should've played the same defense on the last drive instead on mixing it up. So you tell your Bama buddies that should've means nothing at the end of the day.

McCarron is not a great QB but he is very solid. Things werent going his way the whole second half. He sure didnt look like someone who had quit on that last drive. Quitters dont drive their team down the field 70+ yards for the winning score. You bring up being a realist but you were the one that said UT would expose Bama and beat them down yet all the UT fans on here that overlooked homerism and actually broke down the rosters knew that it was going to be very tough to beat Bama with the personnel on UTs team especially on defense.

Les Miles said he had been preparing for Bama since the spring. I havent heard Saban mention it. I know he publicly said he prepared for UF all spring and summer the year bama beat them badly in the SECCG.

Believe me like they say we're still undefeated. :) I'm hearing it big-time on their side of things. They are talking a lot of non-sense. Saying if Gruden or Strong comes you guys are going to smash us no matter what. It's bad on my end of things as a UT fan these days. :) And it's looking like it won't get any better if we keep this clown of a coach.

Read a twitter headline from 247 that we have a 2nd freshman DL with some grade issues. Who would that be?
Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247
Dooley to govols247: A 2nd Vols freshman DL "not really participating" and focusing on academics:

Daniel Gray didn't practice on Tuesday due to a virus. Justin Hunter was limited for the second straight day. He's dealing with some soreness. Remember he got tackled funny on a punt return and he finished the game in a leg sleeve. He should be fine for Saturday but he is sore.

Also in watching practice, to me it's plain to see that Josh Conklin has much more input on things in pass defense. We will see what all changes show up on Saturday but that's pretty clear to see in watching practice.

Give Dooley one more year. The big thing is whether Bray will stay or go, that will have a big impact next year. UT has alot of players returning which should help alot. Sunseri in year 2 has to be better. UGA loses alot on defense especially the DLine and secondary. UF will have a few on defense declare also like Elam and Floyd. USCe will lose half of their defense but should still be solid overall. So UT will have a great opportunity to take a big step forward

If we can't get the HR hire, I agree.

The more and more opposing SEC fans I hear telling us we should keep Dooley, the more convinced I am we definitely need a change.

when was the last time Tennessee had an outside rush guy on the DLine that commanded a double team?

Damn good question. Will Overstreet was the first name that jumped in my head but he definitely benefited from playing with some tremendous talent inside. Only other person I can remember off the top of my head is Robert Ayers. Ayers had his moments.
