The whole problem will repeat itself in the 3 wildcard selection. Are they gonna give the SEC 2 or 3 of those? Because we will have better teams sitting out than some of the vonference champions
Wouldn't be opposed, though it still may end with awkward punishments for divisional winners, conference championship game losers. May reward teams that finish 2nd place in division and avoid championship game. I think conference championships need to be a prerequisite part of the playoff itself or done away with.
JMO, but it would incentivize teams to put together tougher schedules which would ultimately help make decisions easier.

Yes, still has humans interacting and voting. You need an nfl type system of hard rules. Same way conferences already do things.

It sorta works out anyway. I am primarily frustrated that bammer always gets the rematch. Has anyone else ever gotten a rematch in the playoffs with the team that beat them in their conference? I can't remember.

If Bama gets in over a 1 loss conference champion Or or OU then the committee is saying that conference championships do not matter. I don’t think that happens.
otoh, There are conferences champions who would be lucky to only lose three in this league. I think the conference argument is a frontman for having more geographic regions for $.

No but they deserved it and proved it. LSU didnt even cross the 50 that game iirc. And were lucky to beat bama game 1. It was the right call, despite people not wanting the game. They did the right thing. Unlike putting ND in 2012, that was a bad call.

I agree about ND
Can you recall anyone else getting a rematch, though? Bammer is gonna get another one too

Champions of weak conferences shouldn't benefit from playing in a weak conference IMO.

Imagine if TN were in a similar situation that Bama is now in, what would your opinion be then? Would you argue we shouldn't be in over a conference champion even if we were a better team?

People get hung up on it being Bama. Yes, we hate Bama, but do you change the system just because we hate Bama? At some point, other teams will be in the same position. Maybe it could some day be us. Best team should go and strength of schedule should matter more than being champion of a weak conference. Teams should be put in a position where they put that into consideration and schedule tougher out of conference games instead of pansy teams. If you want to be in the playoffs, earn it by playing a tough schedule.

If Saban had scheduled tough out of conference games, it would be clear. He hasnt played Georgia or FL and cheated us; and he lost to LSU. What is their big win? A&M?

Edit: to top it off Saban who officially has 100% control is now scheduling Austin Peay. and when asked about it, LIED and said he didnt have anything to do with scheduling.

First, the SEC is the strongest conference, and right now, the SEC West is probably the strongest of any division in college football. It pains me to say it, but it's truth. Bama should schedule harder OOC games IMO, but let's not underestimate the quality of the SEC while making that argument.

TAMU was a quality win. Auburn would be a quality win. The loss to LSU wasn't a blowout loss.

None of us like Bama, but let's not kid ourselves and think they aren't a good team. They are. Hell, we want to be where they are. And when we eventually beat them, the fact that they are a good team will make it that much sweeter. Beating scrubs is pointless because you're expected to beat them. But when you pull an upset and beat a team you're not supposed to, that's just pure awesome. And at some point in our not too distant future, I expect we'll feel that by beating a good Bama team.
