People get hung up on it being Bama. Yes, we hate Bama, but do you change the system just because we hate Bama? At some point, other teams will be in the same position. Maybe it could some day be us. Best team should go and strength of schedule should matter more than being champion of a weak conference. Teams should be put in a position where they put that into consideration and schedule tougher out of conference games instead of pansy teams. If you want to be in the playoffs, earn it by playing a tough schedule.
It is not an excuse..I watched that game. I hate Alabama, but it was clear that the whole program could not care any less about playing in that game. They wanted to be in the NC and were deflated after losing to UF..plus the whole Andre Smith fiasco...outside of last years UGA team..at least for the first half..that is the least excited I have ever seen a team show up for the Sugar Bowl.Meh, excuses. Utah beat that bottom. In fact, they have never lost to Bama...undefeated.
the thing i hate about that as a blanket statement is that not all conference champions are determined the same way, and i think devaluing the conf championships ultimately devalues the regular season, which has always been one of the primary strengths of college football. the drama that is created each week is that every single game matters.....the reward for winning the "big" game(s) on your schedule is the opportunity to win the conf and a natty.Best teams should go. Strength of schedule means more than conference champion IMO.
how do you have MN behind, especially THAT far behind PSU??? no sense. there's a scoreboard that proves they're better.Top 10 in the BCS should be (imo)
1. LSU (no debate really, they've played and beaten 4 top 10 teams and will face at least 1 more in the SECC)
2. OSU (not an amazing resume, but quality win over Wisconsin and they still face Penn State & Michigan, winning out they are easily in)
3. Clemson (cupcake schedule, but defending champs and beat A&M)
4. Alabama (hate to put them in...but 5 point loss to the clearcut #1 team is about as quality a loss as you can have)
5. Penn State (Minnesota has a very good chance to be undefeated when they play OSU in the conference championship game and that's their only loss)
6. Oregon (close loss on the last play of the game to Auburn to open the season, and have a few solid wins in conference)
7. Georgia (2 wins over top 10 teams, but losing at home to South Carolina this late in the season hurts them...they can win out and make top 4 still but have to win the SEC to do it)
8. Minnesota (undefeated, could be argued they've had a strong schedule than Clemson even)
9. Oklahoma (losing to Kansas State really hurts them imo, have to win out to have a shot now)
10. Utah (another 1 loss Pac-12 team, it was an early game and on the road so not as negative an impact on them as OU or GA losses coming later)
yep. i did hte same thing yesterday. already watched the Mandalarian or whatever. Kids are PUMPED about all the stuff they have access to again, wife is pumped about Hockey on ESPN+, and i'm glad i'll be able to watch the TN/WASH game now....and my wife was in on disney+ when she saw it had the movie Hocus Pocus......lol.I have Disney +, hulu, ESPN+ now....ask me anything.
Soon as I saw Disney+ had the movie Heavyweights I was sold! Pretty sweet bundle they put together, impressed.
Clemson is undefeated so that's why they are ahead of Bama, no one is ranking OU in the top 6, Penn state has beaten a ranked Michigan and a ranked Iowa and have only lost to a top 10 Minnesota. Minnesota is undefeated and bestrn a top 10 Penn State team.Who has Clemson beaten? Who has OU beaten? Who has Penn state and Minnesota beaten? Good teams don't play each other that often.
