Made me think of another question though. In the modern era, passing qbs since the late 40s, there are 26 qbs in the HoF. I think there are maybe a third that amount either recently retired or still playing that may get in. What do y'all think.
Definite
Peyton
Brady
Brees
Rodgers
Probably
Eli
Cam
Rivers
Big Ben
Russell
Maybe
Ryanif he'd've kept playing
Stafford
Luck
I probably have too many and may have left some off. There's a bunch in this next waive but I cut off at around Russell's age cause didn't want to go too young. But I could definitely see 9 of those getting in.
Cam I think because of how much he changed the position. The game has changed for sure.
You know Peyton, Brady, Brees are in without question. I think Rodgers if he retired after this season would be in still, but there'd be some debate probably. Another 1 or 2 full seasons though with his normal production he's a no brainer as well.
I think 50k career passing yards and 400 TDs will become the first cut off point, if it hasn't already.
Eli and Ben I think are both in because of those SB rings they got. Beating the 18-0 Patriots pretty much sealed the deal for Eli, he's kind of trash and is beneath Rivers imo, but the way he played in the playoffs and winning 2 rings will put him in there.
Guys who may never get in despite great numbers. Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck.
Wilson I believe can get there. He's only played 8 seasons already has played in 2 SBs and won 1. He plays another 6 years with current averages holding he'll have over 50k career passing yards, over 6k rushing yards, near 400 passing TDs. He also has 68% for his current career winning percentage. Brady/Peyton/Montana are the only QBs with better win % for their career and 100+ wins.
the only thing i'd say about Cam is that he's done things as a QB in the NFL that haven't ever been done before. he holds several NFL all time records for QB's.....The game has changed for sure.

Indiana losing its OC, not sure if he’s coaching bowl game or not:
BREAKING: Fresno State expected to hire Kalen DeBoer as coach
also, they went from DeBord to DeBoer?
Rivers is closer to Matt Ryan than Dan Marino. And as for Marino's steep decline, he had what 2 bad seasons and both were because he didn't play the whole season due to injury.
Yeah, I don't think the league "caught up" to Marino, I think he slowed down due to injuries. His second season is still the greatest season for a QB in history as far as I'm concerned. He obliterated all the existing season QB records that season. His yardage total was literally 50% greater than any other QB had ever thrown for in a season. And while the league was becoming more offense-friendly it certainly wasn't anywhere close to where it is now and, beyond that, no other QB during that same time was putting up those kind of numbers. He probably would have thrown for about 7,000 yards and 70 TDs that season if the NFL was as offense-friendly as it is now.
Man you just don't like Marino at all, haha. Could you imagine him in this era?
