I want to believe that it isn’t all on JG but I compare his performance to that of Matt Corral last night with an OM team that isn’t in the same universe as us talent-wise going blow for blow with Bama and I have to wonder WTH is wrong with JG. Maybe it’s coaching, I don’t know, but JG has improved marginally over 5 years and still isn’t anywhere close to beating the best teams. He isn’t even making it competitive.
Georgia is a great team. They are better than us. The defense they have built is impressive. The problem is another blow out to our rival. We can’t keep having that. Without those turnovers, the game is a ten point loss and that is an easy sell to recruits. Our defense played lights out in the second half and if we didn’t turn the ball over so much, we could have punted deep and made them drive the field. They would not have done that. Yes, the o line did not play well. But bad fumbles and crazy interceptions cannot happen to a fifth year senior QB. Take the sacks and live to fight another day. Teams have figured JG out. It’s the reason we cannot run effectively. No one respects the pass and we are always running on loaded boxes. That is because we have a mediocre QB.The reality we don’t want to face is that UGA might win the National Championship. What other teams are that good? Clemson, maybe Alabama?
We’re just not at that level yet. And the majority of college teams aren’t either. We just have to continue stacking talent and find that elite QB.
All the penalties and only getting 1 yard a carry on first down put JG in a ton of positions that are not conducive for success. As much as I want to say JG was terrible. He wasn't. He gave us a chance to win. The two TD's were right on the money. When your RB get blown up at the handoff and your QB is running for his life, That should not happen with the talent we have at O-line. That's a problem.
We need to be careful comparing QBs from week to week especially with how some of these defenses are playing. Week 1 we thought Costello was going to be a first rounder after his performance at LSU. There was even some Bo Nix praise after week 1.
Last week JG for his praise. This week Mond was a world beater and Lord knows he’s inconsistent.
From my seat the SEC has one elite defense and one elite QB. The rest are going to have their ups and downs.

Again you are comparing Bama and Georgia and my point is that isn’t fair. All I’m saying is the talent around the two QBs isn’t even close, and somehow a QB from OM had his team in a position to win against Bama while our 5th year guy was losing it.
Like I said, maybe it’s coaching, maybe it’s scheme, I don’t know. JG looked great on two TDs for 14 points but then turned around and cost us 14 at least in the second half with turnovers.
It’s a recurring theme and it isn’t getting better. We need another option.
Weird. I don't respect your opinion simply because I don't believe you have a clue what you're talking about. You're irrationally defending one player by blaming all the others.
