Pacing myself. One time I posted about Gillespie taking over RB’s coach and having had opportunities to return to his alma mater (Florida) so him coming here was notable. My 50th post, I think. Guy who had been here since close to the beginning and who had 14 total posts in that time, blasted me for “posting to hear yourself talk” and for having my wife as my avi. Suggesting that I didn’t know what I was talking about. That’s when I knew this could be fun. Deserved a lot of my vacations but more were innocuous. Discovered the value of reading and considering (is this worth it?) before hitting submit tho. 😏

I agree, but the real problem here is in back to back years this staff didn't have the team prepared to play a game(s) they should have won. That's a valid indictment. Last year I was all but done with him immediately after that. But he got the team back together and finished respectably. Seeing it again this year was extremely concerning. If we see something similar next year I'd think everyone who knows football would have to admit it isn't going to work. Hopefully he turns the corner and we never get there.

I think Banks was held out bc he couldn’t push off on his ankle like he wanted to be able to. I saw Simmons dresses out on the sideline during the game but I guess he hasn’t “earned” his playing time

This year? Thought we've looked prepared each game. That doesn't always mean your players will execute, but we've came out prepared and ready to play.

Smart issued a challenge and they reviewed the play. They automatically challenge change of possessions and touchdowns. Pruitt should’ve been able to challenge that Hyatt stayed in bounds.

That play is unchallengeable. Once a ref calls the player out of bounds, it's understood the defense gives up pursuit. They wouldn't have caught him anyway, but that's the argument.

Yep. Which is why refs should always err on the side of not blowing the whistle. Unless it's a call in favor of auburn, then the rulebook explicitly states to blow it dead and not review it.

I could see Pruitt being this way. If correct these freshmen and sophomores better buck up. IMO he wants the ones that wants to be out there, a bunch of Rudy’s so to speak. Got to give him time and let him do his thing.

PS Hyatt is going to be a beast for this university if we can find someone to get the ball to him. Can’t wait to see Wideman. The speed is going to be there

We're cheap. Seriously, if we had been willing to spend the money when they let Fulmer go, we probably wouldn't be where we are now, but every time we have a football coaching search we shop the bargain bin.

We weren't against KY. Those Qb's weren't prepared for the zone. That KY squad was prepared for us though.

You know what got under my skin more than anything to do with that game Saturday?

Sometime in I believe the 3rd quarter of the broadcast, Bama Gary and Nessler were mentioning Rutgers getting their first big10 win in years, whatever the hell the stat was. Nessler in what sounded somewhat sarcastic tone says "Rutgers back? Schiano BACK?I!"

Now being a bludgeoned for the last 10 quarters/years-UT fan, I felt like there was a jab intended there. But here was the **** kicker. I swear it, as quick as Nessler says it, there was a one or two second pause of silence and if I didn't hear Gary's punk*** snickering a little into the microphone, I really am losing it. What a pompous ass. I'd pay good money to see Todd Blackledge challenge Danielson to a local Waffle House main event card. Sorry for the rant. I just needed to get that off my chest. Been bothering me since about 6pm Saturday night. Go Vols.
