Dude I feel like over the summer me and you were the only ones preaching about this fools gold and we got absolutely flamed for it...different year same dude..nothing has changed no improvements.I can’t wait till he’s gone and Chris weinke is fired!...what will this say about Pruitt as a HC when JG leaves and we start winning games next year that we wouldn’t have won with JG!?!..I’ve already got my statement written out on what I’ll say..

You can’t hold an opinion that’s negative here or you get told to go back to the FF. I know most are from the hills here but we don’t have to inbreed. We should probably welcome new people bc I don’t foresee a ton of vol fans getting excited and jumping onto forums in the future.

I think the main thing/problem with Maurer is he is simply trying too hard to make something out of nothing. He knows he only has a short amount of time/reps to prove he's the guy, so he is forcing things that he probably normally wouldn't if he knew he was the guy and wasn't one play away from coming out... playing scared and trying to force big plays is what is getting him into trouble. I would love to see him play a game knowing he wasn't coming out if he screwed up. I bet he makes better decisions and doesn't force things that aren't there... takes what the defense gives him. Moves the ball and creates plays if needed, but doesn't force it.

He’s a 5th year senior that is a below average. For UT to take the next step we’ve got to have better qb play, plain and simple

I agree completely but I don’t think there is another QB ready to do that. Nor do I think this season should be thrown away to get a QB ready for next year and even if it was playing a guy like HB might actually hurt his future instead.

I've said JG wasn't the answer for three years now... it's only gotten worse.

175 yards, 2 TD's, zero turnovers and a strong rushing effort? Yes, I think that would be enough to be right there with either of those teams.

I just respectfully disagree with this. Our defense hasn't show me anything to make me think we can hold either of those 2 teams to under 30 points and 175 yards passing (even with no turnovers and a strong run game) is not going to net us over 30 points on the scoreboard. Agree to disagree i suppose!

Maurer was a freshmen last year who they thought would never see the field. He had very limited reps. He was reckless a lot and tried to force balls. But, he gave us a spark and really helped change the feel of the team. We only got to see him throw one time this year, he may have grown and could be a good player now. We just don’t know until we put him out there and let him run the offense.

I did watch that game. He made 2 throws where the reciever had a step and threw it outside thats not back shoulder. Go watch Baileys throw he hasn't made 1 anywhere close to that this year. Every decent throw JG had made this year the reciever has had a step.

Baileys throw was only thrown where either the receiver gets it or it goes out of bounds. The defender wasn’t on Palmer right there like the defender was on Wideman. On this throw Palmer doesn’t have his defender beat so JG throws under the coverage on the back shoulder. In Baileys throw he has to put it over the top of the defender on Widemans back shoulder.

The throws are different but they are both good throws.

Zero chance. Look up how many games JG has scored over 30 points since being here. And then look up how many points we’ve scored against UF since JG has started. We can’t beat UF with JG. Only ones we have a chance to beat with JG at QB is Arkansas, Auburn, and Vandy.

My hope is that JG plays and the first sign of adversity we go to bailey in small doses. We all know JG can’t overcome a mistake

Zero chance. Look up how many games JG has scored over 30 points since being here. And then look up how many points we’ve scored against UF since JG has started. We can’t beat UF with JG. Only ones we have a chance to beat with JG at QB is Arkansas, Auburn, and Vandy.

He definitely hasn't put up a stat line even close to 175 yards, 2 TD's and zero turnovers against UF in the past...but he also hadn't done that against Bama in the past. I'm just saying, I think if he does that against Florida, it would give us a chance to beat them. Would it require the defense to play well? Of course. The defense was supposed to be the strength of this team. They have certainly disappointed to this point.

My point is...if he plays mistake free football, hits on a couple of long throws like he did against Bama, the run game runs the ball well against a below average run defense, and the defense actually shows up...we 100% could beat them.

I’m mostly upset because I know the type of talent we have sitting on the bench in Bailey. This should be his team. I’ve seen him play many times. And I know snow vol has too since we are in the same area. Shoot, I could walk to Marietta’s stadium from where I work. There is not a throw that Bailey can’t make. I don’t care if we run 30 plays with him. It would immediately open up our offense and make it easier to run since people would have to respect the pass so much. He may make some freshmen mistakes, but he will be better for it next year. I honestly believe we could win every game down the stretch with him, he is that talented.

Come be a back up QB at the university of tennessee where if you throw interceptions in practice you get yanked and get absolutely zero! Live game reps on Saturday...but Jarrett Romo! Who can’t feel pressure with both hands on his nuts and can’t see a blitz without asking Helen Keller which side it’s coming from but that’s ok it’s completely different because he’s earned it...seniority is the ticket around this facility....I MEAN HOW ******* DUMB DOES THAT SOUND!?!...like its mind boggling.makes absolutely no sense at all
