I this case I doubt that happened.
Imo liberty is making a buyout gamble to put the school that hires freeze next on the hook got more buyout.
This isnt a move made that means Freeze is staying there imo

No. I think he would take UT first but he wouldn’t pass up another SEC school like SC or Auburn. This is our one window.

That's a win in my book. If its not possible for us to hire him this year, its best he doesn't go anywhere, while Pruitt heads into a make or break season.

no, but it is a way to make sure that Freeze gets taken care of when/if he does leave.

liberty did him a favor...i believe they did it knowingly....and..rightuflly so.

But that is something that would be negotiated for and is an important part of the contract. If Liberty raises his buyout to an amount that makes some schools back off, then it makes him less “hireable.” That buyout is important for a coach’s future moves.

Isn’t it ironic that Low says that and then announces a new deal several hours later?

If we are relying on the check into cash guy for big money, I'm very doubtful. Not that I know him personally but that business model is semi scamy imo. I've never used them but I'm sure it's a joke how much money they take per transaction.

That business model only works for a small percentage of the workforce. People who don't have bank accounts mainly and pretty much live from paycheck to paycheck. The sad part is that the person using this service just gives up a portion of their hard earned check for instant cash.

well. the last time we went to Auburn after a bye, it worked out pretty good.

i would hope we take this extra time and build on whatever it was we didn't do before the Ark game.

there are a lot of young guys that need to see the field on both sides of the ball. Beckwith, Joseph, wideman, lawrence...more hyatt...omari thomas....spraggins.....any of hte running backs.........and then there's guys like Tyus fields and warren burrell that we kinda knew would be develomental guys....how do they figure?

there's a lot of options....a fair amount of talent.....time to let it go out there and do.................

All Liberty is doing with this extension is saving their own ass and making sure they get paid a pretty good buyout for when he lands a job in the SEC this offseason.

I certainly hope that is just posturing on Fulmer's part.... But I doubt it. If Matthews said it in those terms it came straight from the horses mouth. Barring a collapse of epic proportions nothing will be done. I fear Fulmer's pride has us grasping at straws with a coaching search after the close of next season. Rinse, repeat. By then I might just be out, or so apathetic Tennessee football no longer moves the needle.

Fulmer is hurting us. He’s stubborn. He doesn’t want to admit fault. His guy sucks. He could save his rep by hiring Freeze but he won’t. Is what it is. He’s a part of the problem. Thinks he’s too big to fail in a way.
