Reading the tea leaves (just as relevant as the media) I don't think ANY SEC school will make a coaching change this year. Money and other concerns will make this a mulligan year. I also think Freeze will still be an option after 2021 if need be. Could easily see Pruitt allowed one more staff shakeup. Chaney, Weinke, Felton maybe not brought back. Chip Long named OC with Osovet in a greater role. Neids moved to another spot. Bo Davis and a quality LB coach brought in. Not the outcome many want, but better staff at the least.

also would explain why I would show Chaney's fat ass the door toot sweet.
I think it’s VQ enabled fan contrivance, but if even remotely true? He has completely failed his job...instead of merely almost completely. “I don’t like him.” What is this pee wee football?

I know it was already posted but this **** writes itself. We are in a simulation View attachment 322376

After listening to the VQ podcast I believe Salter will be the starting QB next year and Chaney was never sold on Bailey.

f*** chaney and Pruitt if they don’t give that kid a fair shot! What Pruitt and chaney have been doing to these kids making them sit behind a lame duck 5th year QB is considered coaching malpractice and how they have handled the QB situation has cost us many games.forcing us to watch the S**t show for 3 years now while promise change and hope.NOTHING HAS CHANGED ...if they do that to Harrison then they lied to Him and his family being the future at tennessee and that’s BS..the kid can play.

I could hang with that...specially the Chip Long at OC part and Osovet being groomed. Don’t know how long we can float Nieds tho.

Thinking back to when Fulmer took over for Majors. That would have never happened if Tennessee operated the way we do now. I wasn’t as involved in Tennessee football as I am now, how was that viewed? We’re there issues involved besides winning?
yeah, it split the fanbase right down the middle. majors supporters/fulmer supporters were about as bad as dems/rep these days, back then...lol.

one of the few times i've almost actually gone to throwing hands at a football game was in the Memphis game that season, Johnny's last game after coming back from his surgery, and then being fired....and two jack legs behind us (i was maybe 17? but my grandparents, mom, daad, aunt/uncle and a couple of friends all went to the game) were lit up before the game even kicked off, and htey were hurling obsenities toward Johnny, talking about how "we want phil!" etc...

anyway, my grandmother turned around and said "hey, why don't you scream a little louder, i don't hink they can hear you in row 1"....and one of them said "why don't you turn around ans stfu you old.............."

before he could finish i was out of my chair and my buddy grabbed me had to hold me back............i was basically ready to get arrested........we exchanged a few "pleasentries", but i simply made it clear that if heard another word, it would be bad for him.

didn't hear another peep, and sometime during the 3rd qtr, he got up, and his knee hit my back and he immediatley reached down and said "whoa, sorry man".....

anyway....yeah, that season was so much fun....my heart rate goes up just telling that story..............lol.

It’s certainly possible that Chaney is making a mistake but who knows. I don’t think we’ve seen enough from HB yet.
Agreed, Jalin Hyatt traveled to Georgia to work out with him in the summer and came away saying he felt like "HB could be special." Whether that's just teammate talk or not idk

HB gonna transfer to Georgia and win the heisman and a NC. That’s TN’s luck.

i think that's probably pretty close to being accurate. i still wonder if there's any consternation over Will Friend. the OL should be a lot better. past that....sounds about right.

Agreed I watched him play several games at Marrieta on TV throughout his career and the kid can flipping sling it, why he hasn't gotten to play meaningful snaps way sooner is beyond me

Some here might disagree, but the way that went down is actually a sign of some dysfunction in the program, IMO. Not a high-functioning one.

Before that season started, Johnny was not on the hot seat by any stretch but he'd rubbed many in the AD the wrong way by going around publicly chirping about his contract and about how he was underappreciated/deserved a raise. His job security, while solid, was not at the level it was perhaps in the late 80s. Then he's out for heart surgery and the team performs very well under Fulmer in his absence, going 3-0 with wins over ranked Georgia and Florida teams. You can also believe or not believe that Fulmer worked back channels about forcing Johnny out.

Johnny returns and wins his first 2 games back, but then loses 3 in a row (2 upset losses + a loss to Bama), then closes 3-0 against weak teams, then is forced out.

The thinking is that perhaps Johnny had rubbed some important people the wrong way, and it coincided with Fulmer's emergence as a good OC and a trendy name who was being mentioned frequently on the coaching carousel in connection with other head coaching jobs. They didn't want to lose him.

I’m ready to move on from Chaney. Good OC can mask poor QB play to an extent. JG isn’t good but Chaney did him no favors in getting him in position to make plays and throws. He has zero creativity. We never motion. Never try and make the defense think about what they’re doing. He’s written off a top 4 GA high school QB in history. Him and Pruitt have barely given the kid reps. I feel bad for HB. It was his dream to come here. He worked his way to this level and did everything you can ask form a high school recruit to get to this level and then his OC and HC don’t even give him a chance. He may never amount to the hype but he deserves a chance. Chaney has to go. He didn’t even want to be here until we overpaid him.

don't disagree. and he didn't really help shrout with the intial play calling he did for him when he got in the game either.....you could arge the same with Bailey.

He really is a bad OC the game has changed since he was at UT with Bray. The lack of creativity is mind blowing. Other teams much worse than us look like they are doing illegal stuff compared to our offense.
