Brian Nieds to stick with recruiting at a high level and worrying about the TE’s simple as that these linebackers suck this year

It's mind-boggling how bad they are in coverage but how much better they are at coming downhill and defending the run.

That leads me to believe it is a coaching/technique thing as opposed to a lack of speed or athleticism.

i think they will and i think Bo Davis is probably that guy.

i won't be surprised if they make a push for Lupoi either.

i could see a scenario where Ansley is just given the secondary out right and pruitt takes over defensive play calling, and brings in davis and lupoi....maybe moves Nieds to OLB or back to TE and keeps Felton at OLB?

on offense, it does make some sense to move osovet to QB, chip long to OC and if he'd stomach it, chaney to OL....if up to me, weinke and friend would be out. keep grahm and martin where they are, and have Nieds back on TE, if Felton is kept.

if felton is out, nieds goes to OLB...and maybe you put Chaney and Friend on OL/TE's....?

lots of options out there, i guess the good news is, there's a couple offensive guys already on the stafft hat could plug right in and very likely could be upgrades.............

I don’t return Nieds to TE...even if he’s retained. Long is an elite TE coach in an era where I didn’t even know that existed and him being hands on would land us elite prospects at the position. If the dream scenario of Davis/Lupoi occurs, I would think Lupoi takes over OLB’s and helps Davis with the DL. So carry Nieds at ILB...or move on? A year ago that would’ve been an insane conversation but I’m not insane.

and i don't know how confident i am in the whole Lupoi deal....fun to consider though.

I think they're going to go HB from here on. They've got 2 weeks to get him ready. I believe he'll play from now on. I could be wrong, and probably am, but that's my feeling.

I mean at this point in order for a change at the QB position!...we just need @David Ubben to write another sweet hit piece on how incompetent Pruitt is at NOT! Playing HB and maybe it will generate enough buzz to where Pruitt gives into actually playing him!

Exactly. I mean, if HB comes out and sucks, the fans are going to be okay with JG trotting back out there. But I can't see how HB can't do at least what JG was doing against Arkansas. How hard is it to hand the ball off and pass 8 times a half?

f*** that open up the damn playbook.you know how long it’s been since I’ve seen a beautifully placed 40+ deep ball?..over a year! And HB has far better arm strength!...for 4 years we have been playing behind the sticks.it’s time that changes.no more wheel routes

It makes too much sense for Pruitt. I won’t feel one bit sorry next year when the fans are relentless to him. If he played Bailey all year, we could have given this year a pass. But nope, he drowned the season doing things his way.
