you remember the 2017 off season? lol.

Unfortunately I do, lol. So therein lies the question, if we make a change it'll be because record-wise we're in a similar/worse position than coming of that 2017 season. Should we expect CPF to be able to have a more experienced list this time around? If the answer is no, I'm not sure I'm in favor of a change.

Take that statement last night where the guy was saying that fan apathy was going to cost more than the buyout. Like I've always said, these decisions are always made on a spreadsheet. When it becomes more expensive to keep him than it does to fire him (and staff), that's when he's gone. They've got bean counters over there that put all the factors in and it will spit out the old:

I think we just spend too much time feeding into each other. Pruitt has atleast another year. We will make coaching changes, and try to bring in another class or two before we give up on Pruitt.
Maybe so. No guarantee either way.

Part of my thinking is, Pruitt has already been allowed to make coaching changes. Ansley is a great defensive coordinator and we spent a lot of money to get him. Chaney has been successful everywhere he's been, and we gave him even more money than Ansley.

You don't get to switch out coordinators every year because the head coach can't either get along or work with his assistants.

i don't think anyone can answer that here. there's a lot of "easy button" answers, but we keep proving how difficult a job this really is, and how far away we are from being on a competitive level with the top programs in our conference. so while you hear about who thinks this is a dream job....i think it's safe to say, given our past history with who all has told us "no" in the past, that's a lot of hot air....

firing has not been our problem.

hiring is. i don't see that changing should we make a change now....which is why i agree with @Kingston Vol that if we were to change, we'd need to have the replacement basically sewn up behind the scenes. the last thing we need is another public disaster of a search.

i also think that's much easier said than done as well. we still have far too many hands in the cookie jar for a behind the scenes deal like that to go smoothly....it'd be difficult to get everone that needs to be on board with a move like that to agree on a singular course of action....as to the hire that is.

We hired Pruitt because he was the best football mind. It was known before that he had no CFB headcoaching experience and that there would be a lot of lessons to be learned. As long as Phil feels like he is learning and growing it's going to be up to him. Our fanbase is losing their mind while he learns his lessons.

Yeah, I still think Pruitt is a phenomenal football mind, but there's more to being a head coach than just that.

Because the 3 compared to JG are better!..I think this is a perfect case of blood in the water and for the first time in 3 years these QB’s see an opportunity for legit playing time and they are competing for it!...this “seniority guaranteed spot” bullS**t treatment Pruitt has been giving JG is why I personally think these kids haven’t done well because there’s no point!..what happened to having to earn and compete for your spot each year?...nothing should ever be just “given” to you unless you are Trevor Lawrence.

JG practiced last week. We will see how the week goes before naming a starter. JG had a very good day yesterday. Believes O has gained confidence.
Sham is academics. Wont be back with the team this season.

No disrespect but I honestly believe JG has been the most ready QB we’ve had all year. Mauer is an excitable erratic chihuahua back there just heaving the ball around. Shrout is trash. Bailey hasn’t been able to do anything all offseason.

If Pruitt didn’t take these 2-3 weeks to prep Bailey, and he rolls JG out there next week, I’ll be shocked.

So Pruitt talking about how you can see Chad Morris footprint on the Auburn offense.......then brings up how JG played good at Auburn 2 years ago.

I think we all know how this is going to end....

My god!...it’s obvious all it takes for Pruitt to be happy with his QB is watch under thrown footballs being thrown all game..does he realize that those wide receivers who saved
JG’s ass are gone ,prospering in the NFL because they have legit QB’s who can get them the ball?😅😂
