He knows that Tn is going to owe him millions and he can go back to being a DC on HC salary. I think that is why we seen these pathetic hires and not hiring a S&C coach. It's time to lay it all out there, live with the mistakes HB makes. If it shatters his confidence for the rest of his career then he wasn't the guy to begin with. He’s not a moron. He’s making himself look like one. Pruitt is very well respected by other coaches & coordinators around the country. I think he may not have been ready for a job/rebuild of this magnitude. There’s been small things that have been done to give you hope such as the roster upgrades & things of that nature, but we all know it’s still a ways away from what it needs to be truly compete. He needs to learn to be more of a CEO type coach and he also needs to upgrade the staff in places without a doubt. I’m just not sure he’s gonna learn that before it’s too late. I think he’s a good dude but this may have been too much for him to start with.

I don’t think anyone in those positions are actively trying to get themselves fired.. it’s just not a good Mark to have on your resume and is also real bad publicity. Some are thinking too emotionally with this situation.

Maybe it's just me, but Blake seems to be the only one of the bunch trying to put any kind of heat on the program.

The VQ guys have this "Aw shucks... We suck again" attitude. Then the press conferences roll around and they ask Pruitt whether the slight breeze affected practice or not.

How the reporters interact with the coaches is ultimately inconsequential but it would be nice if they would at least pretend to report on aspects of this dumpster fire team that anyone actually cares about.

Have you not read some of the quotes from Hubbs? He has said some things I’ve never heard him say. He and VQ usually cover things up that all is fine until the last possible minute. He has thrown tons of gas on the fire.

Basilio waited until they went off the air and it was app only to mention this. In covering the Vols since the early 90s he’s never seen a staff in more disarray than this one. Things are even worse than under Butch and that’s saying something. Coaches didn’t want to take a pay cut because they know they won’t be here for long.

I 100% agree with this statement. The coaches that took the pay cut anticipate being here to make up for the loss and the ones who didn’t do not.

Stop hiring bargain bin coaches and see the wins pile up. Go hire freeze and we instantly become an 8-10 win team every year. Instead we are worrying about making Bowl games with our current coach.
