I think they matter. The right guy could salvage a unit in a season and show real improvements. If we get our seniors back and the young guys get another off season in. We could have a very good DL imo.

Maybe, but that's getting the right people in, hasn't gotten it right this far for a number of reasons. Why would we believe he gets it right this go around? Why would anyone decent hitch themselves to a perceived lame duck coach?

We as fans look at it through a prism of optimism, all we need to do is _____ or ______. When you step away and look at it from a distance like people on the outside do you get a better picture of what we're dealing with. The only real answer is to move on, but that won't happen. We're saddled with a lame duck and we're gonna ride this plane all the way to the ground like we always do and be left with the second tier of up and comers to choose from next coaching search. We've all seen how this movie ends.

since when does it matter? all you need is perception on your side. hell, the truth doesn't even matter.....it didn't in the Schiano deal.

3 years later there's still people saying he witnessed something...and all we ever really know to be true is somoene said he witnessed something. it has never been verified that GS actually did/didn't do anything wrong. just like it's not verified that HF did or didn't do anything wrong in that briarcrest deal.

but the hint of it...was enough for GS to go packing....but not HF....deposition or not, it will not matter if we hired HF.

And I don’t care about that, personally. There isn’t a victim in that scenario unless he was arranging for underage recruits (I don’t know the details) and even then saying there is a victim is a stretch.

This can all be addressed with a morality clause in his contract. Speak to it for 5 minutes in his opening press conference and move on. If we want Freeze then the Briarcrest and escort stuff should be the easy part. I think you guys are blowing this out of proportion. I would also think it’s been long enough that the SEC would be open to him again. The current buyouts and economics is where the holdup will be.

My SC buddies are almost certain they won’t hire freeze. Scott satterfield is one to watch. If not him, I think it’ll be Beamer or napier. But satterfield supposedly wants the job and has wanted it for a while

I don’t have a huge problem with it either if it was a single issue but it isn’t. It’s a group is issues and most importantly some serious ncaa issues which we aren’t really discussing here
