If Satterfield heads to USC, Brohm might finally jump to Louisville.
i think he's on a fast track obviously, Satterfiled that is, but i'd like to see what he could do a P5 job for more than a year....sheesh. i did like him a lot at App....feels like he and Drinkowitz are are on the same path basically.

Brohm...that would make sense.

If you could poach any coach out there to coach at UT, who would you pick?

Personally, I like Mario Cristobal.
not terrible....i'd get behind that.

but if i could pick a guy, and i knew he could be here for 5+ years....hell, i'd just go get Urban and be done with it.

pay him Jimbo money, give him the keys to the program and walk away.....

Opinions on Shane Beamer? I know he's never been a coordinator but I believe he would hire a good staff and has a past history with Fulmer. UT could do a lot worse.
Two things you don’t want to hear...
(1) UT is in a coaching search...AGAIN
and
(2) [Insert candidate’s name], meh, we could do a lot worse

That just rings complete confidence.

If Pruitt WANTS (yea yea) to be here, we need to let him sign this class, develop Bailey (if that’s possible with another coach), and see what we do next year. I said when we started recruiting Bailey that the Pruitt era starts with him. That hasn’t happened yet for obvious reasons. I need to stand by that. I think Freeze would be fun and probably battle Mullen very well. I just don’t think it’s gonna happen this year.

The only want I want to move on from Pruitt is if we lose our LB class and he refused to send Weinke packing.
The the expectation is to WIN the SEC EAST next year. No exceptions

i think he's in the right place for him. i don't know he could replicate what he's done there anywhere else. and that's not a slight against him.....situation and timing being what they are, it worked out great for him, and Clemson.

He’s far to established to fail anywhere ATP. Maybe if he started somewhere else it doesn’t work out but has far to much cred. His entire staff would probably follow him too.

It’d have to be more than Jimbo money. He made $7.6M his last couple years at OSU

Give his wife a chance....

If we're going "up and comer" the answer is Napier all freaking day IMO.
I like Napier. But he has less head coaching experience than Chadwell and Chadwell beat him this year.... Chadwell has improved three different schools. Napier has only been at LA.

that's a good point about the staff. i just know it's hard to get everything right, again.

he's in a very good situation in the ACC, as it's been down for hte most part the majority of the time he's been the HC. he's been able to win at a high level in an area of the country that's rich in talent, and has proved that you don't have to stay in the SEC to a) win national titles or be nationally relevant or b) go to the NFL....

he's got the best of both worlds, and doesn't have to play UGA, Bama, LSU, FL, Auburn every year......

that's why i think it'd be hard to duplicate it. would he succeed? sure.

i don't know that it'd be all that close to the level he's at now. year in/year out play off and conf championship contender.....

What I don't get...and what baffles me most.

Even if you are micromanaged with staffing etc. if you recruit top 25 talent and you are able to develop that talent the on the field product shouldn't be "4-8" level. 6-6 or 7-5 sure, I can see that because there are 5-6 teams we play each week that if you're not "on point" then you can slip up.

We play Bama, Georgia, FL every year and usually we schedule a big name OOC game. Then you got teams like Missouri/Kentucky/South Carolina that have had better coaches and superior talent so they aren't always easy wins. The 2nd West team is never a given, and with Lane/Leach in Mississippi & Pittman at Arkansas it's not going to be any easier having an easy win with that 2nd SEC West team going forward.

STILL with all that being said...we as a program should have 6 or 7 wins every year if you got top 25 classes and a staff that can develop talent, regardless of how "elite" they are or aren't. So to me it seems more likely that Pruitt & co. are either oversold as talent developers or absolutely sticking a middle finger up at the "higher ups" that want to micromanage things.
I would argue that this would be a 6-6 team in a normal year. Not thrilled with that by any mea s, but we already beat USC and Mizzou, throw in 3 cupcakes and Vandy and we are at 6 wins.

My biggest concern with someone like Chadwell is he's never coached at a big school. Not talking HC, just coached period. Could he adjust to recruiting at a level he's never worked at? Napier has experience at several large, successful schools.
