Kingston just wants us to be mediocre. He doesn’t think highly of this university. The rest of have championship expectations. He does not. Which is exactly the mindset of our administration. The fans are the only ones who want to uphold the standard that The University of Tennessee should strive for.
It is painfully obvious how he feels about our football program. I have higher aspirations and hope those at UT do. Who was Clemson before Dabo's recent success? To act like TN could never be elite is foolish.

I was reading his wikipedia page and it looks like he screwed the Bills over when he left them and he's not really had many winning seasons as a head coach, college or pro. The Jaguars are 1-9 right now, but I've not saw the Jaguars play in years.

Was his Syracuse teams fun to watch? How was his recruiting at Syracuse? I'm just curious, because they're seems to be several in here that really like him.
Pretty sure they ran the veer. All jokes aside I'm not entirely sure. I would assume pro style but I may be wrong. His NFL record doesn't concern me. Plenty of good college coaches who failed in the league.

He went 19-21 in the SEC. Is that doing well in the SEC? It wouldn't live up to our expectations. As a fanbase, we have lofty expectations.
I'm not gonna look at his SEC record because he figured out how to beat Bama twice and Saban put the NCAA on him. At least he would have our team playing inspired football and we would be competitive in every game.

The revenue loss this year is kind of irrelevant because you’re not going to make that back immediately anyway. It’s about sitting yourself up to exceed your “normal” expectations the next handful of years. It will be far worse to take another down year next year when you could be gaining that loss back.

Not how they see it bro

Your 2021 head coach game 1 is Pruitt.

As for who your head coach is game 1 of 2022, that is up for interpretation.
Newt's right. Fulmer's not giving up on his football hire, yet, especially with the Covid pandemic, in play. I've liked Freeze ever since, he apologized to Butch (I think) after they scored a late TD, in a game that Ole Miss easily beat UT (2015?). Freeze really seemed to feel remorseful for scoring that last TD and made me think, he was a good guy and coach. Of course, I was wrong, considering the hookers, burner phones and recruits that were above Ole Miss' levels. Still, I think Freeze would do well here, just not going to happen, this year

Yes, you will lose every now and then to those teams. But then you should also beat a big dog too. So it should all even out to around 8 wins consistently. It isn’t hard to win here. We have had terrible head coaches. Shoot Butch won 9 games twice. Anyone wanting to keep Pruitt is insanity to me. You can’t completely fall on your face in year three and continue to mismanage your roster so bad. JG should have been done last year. We should have brought in two transfer QBs and prepared Bailey to be the starter day one. It is coaching malpractice to continue to play 2 when you are getting blown out every week. It is deserving of being fired.

Chadwell, Napier, or Freeze would all come here and they all could win consistently.[/

No less than 9 win a season

If there was anything else to find on Freeze, it would have been aired during his previous scandal. If anyone was sitting in it, that was the time.

I hope to God there is nothing more, but I think it would have been publicized by our cancel culture when they had the chance
We either hire him and have success with him. Or we get our asses beat by him. He's going to end up back in the SEC. The choice is Fulmer's.

How was his recruiting at Syracuse?
That’s not the right question. Does he win, that’s the question, and the rest takes care of itself. Dabo is proving that right now, he’s a clown, but he wins so he recruits well.

That’s the link, winning and putting guys in the NFL. That’s what kids want.

They probably won't do squat. They know fans will show up no matter what. Phil will come out and say Covid really walloped us this year . Jeremy has us on the right track. Rinse and repeat. They don't care about the football program as long as they can keep raking in the dough.
They don’t do squats huh? 😢

He would have a 5-3 SEC record floor here IMO. Occasionally beat a down Florida and Georgia to 6-2. Enough to be in the conversation of East Division winner... which we haven’t been in 13 years. I don’t see Eli Drinkwitz, Derek Mason, Mark Stoops, or Shane Beamer outsmarting his offense. I do remember him rarely using his running backs, but he scores points.

He’s a sleeze, but he checks pretty much all the boxes you want.

They ran pro-style and then his last year they started running a hurry-up.

The Orange offense that was re-tooled in preseason camp by Marrone and Hackett employed a hurry-up, no-huddle approach designed to keep opposing defenses off balance. It was a streamlined version of the pro-style offense Marrone brought with him from the Saints.

After struggling early with the running game, the Orange offense found a balance that allowed it to take off. A 35-24 loss at Cincinnati on Nov. 3 was the only time in its last seven games that SU was held to less than 30 points.

The Orange finished the season 19th in the nation in total offense, at 476 yards per game, and averaged just under 30 points per game (29.33) on the scoreboard.
