I doubt Pruitt is going. I don’t like it either. Read Deerpark12’s posts the last few days. We are making our opinions based in our emotional investment to UT football. It may change how you view things.Everyone is hit or miss. Pruitt has missed. Time to move on.

That’s five off the top of my head. Marrone and O’Brien aren’t great, but they’re better than Pruitt. Call Joe Brady. Venables would be an upgrade.
“We can’t do any better than Pruitt” is just nonsense. I’m sorry, it just is.
Well said.Yeah there's no way to become a fan for another team. I'm a fan of the sport. I watch a lot of football and I can root for other teams in games or root against other teams but become a fan of another team? No. Tennessee fandom for a lot of us isn't surface level. It's entrenched on a psychological level. We've been indoctrinated since we were old enough to say, "Go Vols".
I didn't choose to be a Tennessee fan. It was chosen for me a long time ago and even though times have been tough I have been actively bringing my children into the fold. I may grow apathetic. I may not yell at the tv quite so much as a season of poor showing progresses but I am a fan and will always be.
I believe as of now that Pruitt is coming back. Two days ago I was certain he would be fired as early as today. Deerpark’s posts over the weekend are sound logically IMO. The Administration wants UT football to be successful but there are not good options for Head Coaches this year that would be any different than when we hired Pruitt 3 years ago. I invite you to read his posts since Saturday. He also explains in good detail why it is unlikely Freeze coaches here or any other P5 school. His prior transgressions going back to his time as. High School coach are too much to overcome

Those 15 players aren’t going to be developed well by Pruitt so that doesn’t matter. But they are hit or miss to bring the program to relevancy. Plus we will lose possibly up to 15 quality players if Pruitt leaves. That will set us back years regardless of who the new coach is. We are in a bad spot with limited options this year.
Not buying this part. Pruitt has proven there are much better options available.
Between Bowling Green, South Alabama and Vandy we might get to 3 wins next year. Definite loses are Bama, Florida, UGA and probably Ole Miss unless our defense greatly improves. Kentucky, USCe and Missouri are toss ups. And we already know how well Pruitt does against first year coaches. At best we’ll be 6-6 next year. But let’s stick with the coach that keeps getting blown out year after year with no hope of improving.
This post wasn’t targeted at you btw, just our administration and their lack of competence.
Right. AP and Hubbs knew about it for weeks but there’s a professional conduct when it comes to college athletics regarding when and what to report. Maybe his source will still be employed but it’s probably a coach on his way out if i had to bet on it.
We aren’t Florida and we don’t have a Dan Mullen just sitting there. We do have endless internal struggles that the whole college football world has seen for years though.
You don’t have to buy it if you don’t want to. But, last 3 hires disagrees with most of your opinion on it.All the more reason that the "firing for cause will hurt us" argument doesn't hold water. Those of us who are old enough to remember can recall what everyone said after Alabama ran off Bill Curry after a 10 win season and then went thru four coaches in 10 years. "No one will go there because they have unreasonable expectations" "Boosters and crazy fans have made Alabama a toxic environment" etc, etc. They were a laughing stock. Then they identified a target that everyone (including the target) said wouldn't come and they refused to take no for an answer and they simply used $$$ and determination to make it happen.
So I don't buy all this woe is us, no one will come here, crap. Grow a set and go buy a real coach. Eradicate anyone who stands in the way; AD, booster, VFL's, academics, admin, whatever. Because you know what, when the program starts winning again, all that other crap will melt away and everyone will be back on board. It's that simple.
