Here is what I don't get. Why would a Napier or Clark have a problem keeping Steele on as DC?

I seriously doubt their DC's at UAB and Louisiana would be as proven as Steele... I get wanting to bring your own guys, but Kevin Steele ain't a slouch DC.

If an employer wanted to hire me to run the show somewhere, but did not trust me enough to let me choose my own personnel, it would be a hang up for me.

Sure. But if you are jumping from Main Street to Wall Street, there are gonna be people you can choose from already on Wall Street that are simply gonna be better than the guys you had on you team on Main Street.

I know its all ego driven but say Bill Clark or Napier took the job regardless of politics with Steele. No way in hell their wouldn't be upgrades they could hire over bringing the entire staff from those schools.

Regardless, Auburn has always been "lets turn to the coordinator" the minute the head coach gets in trouble. Chizik to Gus and now likely Gus to Steele

What the college playoffs should be:

  • 128 teams
  • 8 conferences, 16 teams in each conference
  • Each conference has a championship game
  • Each conference champion gets seeded for an 8 team playoff

Start out the hire with conditions and it doesn’t get better.

Wait till SEC play. Bball refs want to blow the whistle constantly. At one point last season the SEC was blowing more whistles than all the other conferences.
