Sure. But if you are jumping from Main Street to Wall Street, there are gonna be people you can choose from already on Wall Street that are simply gonna be better than the guys you had on you team on Main Street.

I know its all ego driven but say Bill Clark or Napier took the job regardless of politics with Steele. No way in hell their wouldn't be upgrades they could hire over bringing the entire staff from those schools.

Regardless, Auburn has always been "lets turn to the coordinator" the minute the head coach gets in trouble. Chizik to Gus and now likely Gus to Steele

Then give me the funds to bring guys like that in, but you trust me enough to let me pick them.

From 247 poster...

“Friend to South Carolina. Defensive staff gutted

Ansley, Neids, Graham gone to investigation. Tee gone on own accord. Friend and Weinke gone. All if Pruitt stays. No way he survives though”

Uh okay

Nice of Ansley to be offering kids despite being chit canned...

Start out the hire with conditions and it doesn’t get better.

Well you are entertaining hiring coaches from the likes of UAB and Louisiana. Not like you're gonna give those guys full range right away. Neither is wrong or right, but I'm surprised guys who have been waiting for a big time job offer like Clark and Napier, turn it down over a "condition" that a solid DC would have to stay.

It ain't like Tennessee in 2010 saying the new coach had to keep some Kiffin holdovers.

Steele may be a dirtbag, but he's good at his job. Surprised all these G5 coaches would say no to him being DC. I get why Sark or Mario and others would. But people have been talking about "if only" guys like Napier And Clark could get a big job offer.

Of course Auburn's booster politics could be such a sh!tshow that no up and coming coach wants to deal with.
