Lol! Do you see that you received zero likes and please show me the threads that show this? It’s ok that you don’t watch football or know which programs are better than the other. But making dumb claims and standing by them is just stupid. Tennessee is second in SEC titles only behind Bama. ESPN even ranked the top programs and had us at number 14. Guess what, Auburn was at 20. You don’t know anything about college football.
Last 20’years bud. What happened prior to 2000 has no bearing on the state of the programs today. Look at my history last night and you will find the posts where people are laughing that Tn football is the equal of Auburn.

So, if Pruitt stays here is what needs to happen: •new QB coach, maybe let Chaney coach qb’s because it seemed to work well for Tyler Bray and Nate Peterman.
•Pruitt needs to stay out of the offense and worry about defense
•Pruitt should takeover playcalling duties for defense.
•we need to invest in quality position coaches, maybe bring in Bo Davis as DL coach, and Tosh for lb coach.
•100% open competition at every position, especially qb.

none of those would pick up the phone let alone agree to be a coach here. If there was a new HC it’s a better possibility but not with a deadman walking

he's done nothing to deserve retention. but that's not the message they're sending. lol.

like it's the goal to alienate fans. lol.

we're mad. i get it. but let's not let a good hissy fit get in the way of some common sense.
What is common sense about it? We had the worst offense we’ve ever seen and one of the worst teams we’ve ever fielded in year 3.

It's really not. Lebron is a great player, but Jordan is clearly the better player. Jordan in his prime was unstoppable on offense, but also an all-NBA defender.

It was generally way easier to play defense during Jordans era. That's a very critical element. But hey I'll take Jordan any day still. But it's close, to think it's not is just nostalgia imo. Haha but I know you'll never change your view point on this so we will have to agree to disagree.

"Pruitt is gone, don't see how he can survive this... " , the entire staff is leaving....

Yet now it's gump is staying along with Chaney... wow. This is a new low for us. Can't wait to see gump continue to not give a 'ish for another year, pathetic defense, which apparently doesn't matter, and Chaney's 1976 offense... And we will watch the '22 TN recruiting class struggle to hit 40th or even fill out.

I know a lot of us, including me, do the knee jerk reaction of "well, I'm out..." But this will have seriously reached a point of the UT Admin saying F you fans, so I think many of us will finally truly walk for a while... I didn't renew my tickets and so glad I made the smart move... Pathetic.

HT is great in run defense, but he constantly gets beat in pass plays, but then so does our whole defense.
the DL has not been good this year, and there's been little help at the LB spot. it's feast or famine with HT, and when situations present that he's been able to affect the play, he's been great. when he has to be the eraser for someone else, he's not.

we're not fast enough at OLB, and not god enough in the middle to free the LB's up to do what they're suppsoed to be able to do in 34.

throw in some spotty safety play, and inconsistency at star, and the fact we can't really line up in man coverage and be effective at CB...

oh, and the coaching changes at LB, DL i think were significant at least from an on field development standpoint.

Is this the all time record? Try the last 20 years. Who cares what happened prior to 2000 because it is a meaningless stat today regarding the quality of the programs present day.
Oh let’s pick out random years and compare the two. Auburn isn’t even the best program in their state. I can pick out random years for any program and make an argument for any program. But if you are comparing two programs you have to look at their total production. We have more wins, more titles, more SEC championships, bigger stadium, better practice facilities, better facilities, new weight room, etc. We are a way better program than Auburn. Just because we hired terrible head coaches who sucked at their job does not make Auburn a better program. It means they made better hires. Period. Let’s compare FSU to Oregon the last five years. I bet you would say Oregon is a better program. They are not. How about Michigan? How do you view them?

Yeah I don’t get the whole Jordan vs Lebron debate. Jordan is the Goat. Lebron is great probably too five all time but Jordan is the best. For me it’s:
Jordan

Kobe, Lebron
Honestly, and others may disagree with me on this, but I would put Magic Johnson above Lebron. Magic could and did play any position on the floor. Whatever was asked of him, he did it. People tend to discount him, maybe because of how his career ended, but the guy was a great basketball player.

surely you don’t mean we should let the man dig a deeper and wider hole?
Let? wth does that even mean? we don't have a say, unless you count anonymous posts on a message board.
and i covered that in the post "done nothing to deserve retention"....

Why would they come here to ride the bench unless someone screws up so bad Baldy has no choice only to be yanked after 1 mistake

If JT comes back it may not be a problem, I just don’t see Maurer back and obviously JG thank goodness...just a numbers thing.

All 3 transferring would leave a RSFrosh and a true freshmen.

What is common sense about it? We had the worst offense we’ve ever seen and one of the worst teams we’ve ever fielded in year 3.

Clearly a lot of people are happy with 3 wins rather than getting someone who can actually fix this.

You know what happens next?

Recruiting takes a dive.
Not that it can get any worse.
Ohh it already did.
We can’t even cheat to get recruits
Coming in 22 is maybe the best instate class in Tennessee.
When all those kids go elsewhere Tennessee is again laughed at.
And we gave this man a new staff and most likely two years and hope he gets it right?

Will not matter...he is way in over his head...he has no idea how to make halftime adjustments! Hasn’t made one in 3 years.

Cant compare them. Jordan played when you could basically punch people (not really, just physicality wise) while Lebron plays in todays game where you can barely touch someone.

Jordan would foul out and Lebron would cry from getting punched in the face

Pruitt supposed to be Defensive Genius... our Defense has sucked ass for 3yrs...
Our offense pathetic under a supposed great OC with large playbook.

Yeah let's keep these two idiots.

After covid this year, coupled with our situation, if we bring him back next year I could see a huge dive in attendance. Now that all depends on like you said, what we're allowed for attendance based on where we are with the pandemic. But if for some reason all restrictions are lifted on that next year, I have hard time believing we are gonna pack the stadium for a lame duck coach.
If Pruitt back, Covid may cover up attendance issue but revenue will be down even more than this past season. We “donated” our tickets last time but doubt we do that again if this is how UTAD responds to (not only) a 3-win season but a totally non-competitive product.

Letting him dig the hole deeper is bringing him back hoping he fixes it. Giving him a new staff when he’s already tried it a number of times. Just so he can spin the wheel and randomly fire a coach because he’s a failure. Causing Tennessee to wait out the contracts of coaches when they should cut ties now and save the headaches
