I hope they find nothing, if they have to fire him this late in the game I have no faith they replace him with anything other than a similar candidate. I have next to no faith they get it right under ideal circumstances.Whatever they have decided or will decide, we won’t know until after the internal investigation concludes. Why?
- If they’re firing him, they want to know what leverage they have re: buyout.
- If they’re keeping him, they don’t want to be blindsided by something down the road.
I’d like to see a comparison of recruiting classes over the last 20 years.
I suspect auburn wins that battle which supports my stance but again I think it would be close
eh. the season just ended Saturday, we were going to a bowl SUnday, not going Monday. his grandfather's funeral, investigation news breaks, he got covid and Christmas Eve is tomorrow.if they haven’t fired him they aren’t doing it on Christmas Eve or Christmas. Maybe not even the following week.
-HubbsAssuming Pruitt is back, I think he will keep same number of coaches on offense and defense which means Chaney can continue as a walk around coordinator if he wants.
Chaney cut his teeth in coaching tight ends. He wasn't Kiffin's OL coach his first go around in Knoxville.
That's SOP for any investigation from what I understand. Doesn't mean anything more than they are doing due diligence.Trey Wallace on 104.5 the zone is saying that TN lawyers are involved along with the compliance office in the investigation.....that sounds like a lot more serious issue against Pruitt.

i'd say next week provides a window that this week may not have. especially if you've been doing your due diligence behind the scenes already.
so if we're still doing this same song and dance next Thursday afternoon/evening....i'd say get your cornbread pans ready. lol.
Why I’m still holding out hope even if we don’t hear any firings this week:
1. No interviews so far for assistant vacancies.
2. Investigation still ongoing.
3. All our likely candidates don’t play their bowl games until this weekend.
4. No rush to hire with no other big programs open and Auburn shipping their own bed.
Why I should crush that hope with the force of a 1,000 armies:
1. We are UT.

So tired of this BS. Chaney doesn't recruit, doesn't coach a position. JFC there is no other active coach in college football getting paid what he is to do less. We need an OC that coaches QB's or another position group and who is a dynamic recruiter. Insane.
Disagree on the recruiting geography. Their in-state talent pool is marginally better than TN’s but they have to share that pool with one of the best college football programs of all time. The other in-state college we have to contend with is Vandy.
