Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

I’m sure you’re right about the recruiting classes, but that has more to do with internal variables than external ones; Auburn’s will to win at all cost and inept leadership at UT over that same timespan. Most other factors are at least a push.
I dont disagree with that

I am not suggesting location is a big factor but it’s a slight one

as far as Atlanta goes, the Cobb county area and north location is a non factor but imo Atlanta and south it’s matters

Really sounds like we’re going to run this thing back in 2021 and if so you can find me in the NBA and MLB forums.

I can’t believe they’re going to kick this can down the road.
I'm telling you man. UT doesn't give a **** about this program or winning. I really hope Neyland is completely empty next year if this is the case.

If this is the case and Pruitt has another crap season next year I hope they give Fulmer his walking papers with Pruitt but the sad thing is if he wins 6 games next year they might give him another year

Personally, if they aren't going to move on from Pruitt, I hope they don't pay to buyout the current coordinators and sign new ones to multi-year deals. That's throwing good money after bad, and restricting our ability to pay what needs to be paid this time next year for a new HC.

If Fulmer wants Pruitt for another year, then let him have it, good and hard. It didn't have to be this way, Phillip, but you are going to fire yourself.

Didn’t read the article so this might’ve been mentioned, but IMO the NCAA has no business passing this rule unless they also plan on eliminating the 25 initial counters cap.

You can’t have both IMO.

The 25 rule needs to go, and there needs to be a one time, no questions asked transfer waiver provided the student has completed one semester in good academic standing.

Gus should be welcomed here with open arms but no we are hell bent on hoping it works for whatever reason

2 more years and new coaches I mean excuses for Bald mans failures
Gus would suck here worse than he doesat AU. He is a suckass head coach. We would just be trading one suck for another.

He is an offense guy whose offense is hated outdated garbage at Auburn, and he has shown absolutley zero aptitude for change. You would hate him just as much as you hate JC, so he would have to hire a innovative OC and stay out of his way, and he sure ain't bringing Steele as DC, so his one big crutch would be gone and he would have to get a really good DC too...

Gus is not the answer.

As something the writer said needs to happen or as something that is already being discussed by the NCAA?
Basically pointing out the contradiction in the system they have set up. That they've opened a door to these players that leads to very few destinations, and that a bunch are going to find themselves in the G5 or FCS.

if pruitt is retained, you can probably rest assured that if their fates weren't tied together before, they would be then.

you won't be able to replace the departing assistants with quality coaches w/out 2 year deals. and if they do bring pruitt back and overhaul the staff, they're not gonna handcuff the hiring of assistants like they did with Fulmer, Dooley and Butch.

him staying means they're hitching their wagon to pruitt's success. they don't need to set him up to fail. that box is already checked.

Curious - IF JP comes back, what is a record where you would be ok with him moving forward? If he goes 9-3 (lost to big 3 but beat all 4 OOC, UK, VU, Miss, Scar, Mizzou) next year is he on the right track and you can blame COVID/JG and 2020 was just a weird year?
