In-laws are literally freaking out, as much as they wanted Gus gone, they don't see the point of firing him to promote Steele. I told them that maybe they are thinking they can hire an really good OC easier than they could get a really good HC.
I think Art Briles would kill it at Auburn as their OC but if they thought Kiffin had too much baggage---- I doubt they would look Art's way :):):):)

All these people turning Auburn down makes me believe they’re trying to force Steele and/or Gardner on the new coach.

New coaches probably want to have their own guys.

New coaches should be allowed to hire their own assistants. If the program was working with the current assistants, you wouldn't need a new head coach.

I’ve posted about 10 times the reasons this is the best year, maybe ever, to make a coaching change, and I hadn’t even considered the schedule.
I agree there are a ton of good reasons.
1. 3 TN guys rumored to have interest and want the job
2. The cupboard won't be bare of talent for once.
3. A reasonable schedule next year where a new guy could win 8-9 games in year 1.
4. Next year's in state recruiting class being an ELITE building block class.
5. Staff turn over which lessens the amount that needs to be paid in buyouts.
6. Future scheduling gets harder
7. Pruitt burning bridges with coaches
8. There seems to be only 1 person on campus who likes Pruitt.
There's 8 reasons right there and I am sure there are a few more.

This was one of the worst offenses in football this year and one of the worst in our history. It’s doomsday keeping an OC who can’t score 20 points.

JG was a huge problem with our offense's production or lack thereof and Pruitt owns that decision.

Our offense was much better, even sadly, with Bailey/Shrout than with JG.

Worst thing Pruitt can do is move on from Chaney and give Bailey a new system to learn. Mightas well fire Pruitt now if its being mandated Chaney has to leave.

Fulmer believes Pruitt is a good coach and will it turn it around here. More importantly, thinks Pruitt's better than the current pool of coaches that are available.
I apologize if somebody has asked you this, but....

Does Pruitt even want to be here anymore? Several people like Larry and others have suggested that he’s tired of all of this. What’s your opinion?

Fulmer: "Jeremy has worked like heck since arriving on the hill, all of our young men know how to tie their shoes now"
