The downfall of TN football started under his coaching watch by being stubborn and hiring ****** coordinators....change my mind.
i think if you think Dave Clawson was his first choice to replace Cut, you just believe what you want to believe, no matter what.

I agree there are a ton of good reasons.
1. 3 TN guys rumored to have interest and want the job
2. The cupboard won't be bare of talent for once.
3. A reasonable schedule next year where a new guy could win 8-9 games in year 1.
4. Next year's in state recruiting class being an ELITE building block class.
5. Staff turn over which lessens the amount that needs to be paid in buyouts.
6. Future scheduling gets harder
7. Pruitt burning bridges with coaches
8. There seems to be only 1 person on campus who likes Pruitt.
There's 8 reasons right there and I am sure there are a few more.

Add:

- Eligibility freeze and 1-time transfer rule gives the next coach an unparalleled ability to reshape the roster to suit their system immediately. This cannot be understated in terms of chance of early success.

- There are basically no other schools you’ll be competing with for candidates, which gives you a bit more negotiation leverage than normal.

Come on, Tennessee. Let’s make a move and give your next coach a fighting chance.

I apologize if somebody has asked you this, but....

Does Pruitt even want to be here anymore? Several people like Larry and others have suggested that he’s tired of all of this. What’s your opinion?

He ain't leaving anywhere. Certainly, didn't like the fanbase calling for his head this season, but that's his own doing. He's in it for the long haul.
