I've not been high on Chadwell either but will be better than Marrone and when its all done we will probably wish it was Chadwell.

I will never wish it was Chadwell. Unless he goes somewhere else first and is successful.

Any hire besides Hugh Freeze and I will be disappointed. I will always be a Tennessee fan but this administration could care less if we win or lose. No more experimental coaches.

Chadwell has a Higher Ceiling but Lower Floor. Both he and Marrone are risks.

Good post.

Both have issues with their resume and even those that like them have to admit it.

I am a big Marrone guy and think he’d do great snd I think Chadwell is a massive risk.

With that said if Chadwell gets the job I’ll be pulling hard for him and support him as much as possible. I’ll love the fact that the job will truly mean the world to him.

I won’t rally against him and call those that hired him lazy and inept.


I hope everyone focuses on the positives of the next coach even if we don’t think they are the best choice

Pruitt and kiffin are the only experimental coaches we’ve hired IMO. Dooley was clearly bad and butch was clearly mediocre.

Chadwell would be the best case hire in my opinion. Tennessee boy, fun offense, and a proven winner. No off the field stuff like Freeze

I think Chadwell would bring energy and being from here, I think he would recruit the state pretty well. Hopefully he hires a good staff.

I'd compare him to Butch without the cringy phrases

There literally is no evidence for or against his ability to succeed on NSD in the SEC.
It’s a huge unknown

Yeah no reason to get mad arguing over something that isn't going to happen. Everyone can want Chadwell as much as they want and it probably won't happen. We can be fearful of Marrone and that hire is probably not going to happen.

I think it's hard to be successful if you have absolutely no idea what success looks like. Being a successful HC is more being able to get talented people around you. Hiring a guy that came up with a gimmicky offense and have won at a low level doesn't get me excited. I guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
