If we had a great year, I could care less about a bowl ban.

We have not had a great year in a very, very, very, very long time. Fulmer was the coach the last time we had a great football year, regardless of a bowl.

I posted this in the FF and thought the stats would give some perspective here about how the game has changed in just the last 5 years

I did some research to prove my point and how much the game has just changed over the the short time period of 5 years.

2015:
SEC games only
Ave point diff was 14 pts
34% of games were decided by 7 pts or less
26% of games were decided by 20 or more pts


2020 :
SEC games only
Ave point diff was 18.5 pts
23% of games were decided by 7 pts or less
45% of games were decided by 20 or more pts



So as we discuss what’s makes next year a successful season I think it’s time we stop even discussing margin of games we might lose. It’s w\Ls that matter and it’s just a fact that nearly half of all SEC games are now going to be 20pt blowouts.

Not really. We’re talking about a guy who’s had top flight defenses at three different major programs. Had a top 30 defense in year two here. I’d have to think with Pruitt, Steele, potentially Ansley being on staff that the defense should be pretty good next year.

The only time he has had a top defense was when he had more talent then everyone. Every coach that goes to Bama looks good. He was very average at UGA and he has shown here he doesn't know how to scheme unless he has more talent.

Def held ball too long. And Weinke is garbage.

The bolded tho - I just don’t see how this can be true. This board went bananas when he’d be taken out of the game despite the announcers saying pre-game that there was a plan to play both QBs. If the announcers knew about the plan, I’m guessing HB also knew about the plan.

The formula for today’s game seems to be an offense that can potentially score on every possession, and a defense that can force turnovers and make offenses settle for field goals.

Ball control, win time of possession, field position game football is dead. Not that these things should be abandoned, but they should not be the way anyone looks to win games anymore. I always hated when teams played to win games 10-7 anyhow, you always keep your opponent in the game that way.

Pretty sure he fielded a top ten defense at Georgia his last year. His first year I believe they were top 20. That’s not average.

Well when youre down double digits in the 3rd quarter most teams try to extend drives and take time off the clock. It could have been a lot worse. We had several teams have 8 minute drives on us this year. Thats a misleading stat. We were a$$

Well why didn’t you go with Saban, and Dabo since you are just naming coaches.... the only coach on that list that has proven it is Campbell..... Franklin has but he just had a horrible season.... the rest were successful at a lower level besides Tom Allen and mark stoops who are far from proving it on a consistent basis.

Not true----since their head coach was fired, they can win an appeal from the NCAA. They still have to win an appeal from the SEC if they transfer in conference but there's always a chance.

There was no plan. There hasn't been a plan at QB for 3 years.
