I think how well he's recruiting relative to Buffalo's competition is more relevant. Butch was winning with 2 and 3-star recruits too, but it sure as hell wasn't because Butch was a good developer. For all we know Buffalo might be pulling in good talent for a MAC team.

12 MAC teams:

2021 - 6th best class in MAC
2020- 12th
2019 - 7th
2018 - 12th
2017 - 9th
2016 - 9th

In a quick search, there was an article in 2019 that computed 4 year recruiting averages for all D1 teams. Buffalo was 8th in the MAC.

Bingo and now that Plowman has been plugged in the next coach won’t be able to operate like our competitors. Idiots committed program suicide here

Come on man, you're smarter than that..... She said exactly what she was supposed to yesterday, prepped by her legal team to try and help minimize the penalties... The NCAA was watching yesterday... Bring in the new AD/coach/staff, and they will start slow, but give it 6-8 months and I can guarantee things will slowly, but smartly start back up....

Interested to get everyones opinion on what happens to recruiting in the next 2-3 years, and next 10 years. Minor bump and back to business as usual? Running a tight ship and dropping out of tier 2 of the recruiting powers (5th-15th)? Does a splash hire fix everything, maybe even improve recruiting?

I think it depends on the hire. Steele/Garner combo on staff in some capacity could keep us in the mix and go a long ways.

Who knows though. Things seems dark today. But it could turn quickly if the right coach shows up.

if you don’t think like the next coach will be expected to keep clear of ncaa issues I can’t help. The gray area isn’t going to be friendly

I know you think the boosters did this, but you’re wrong. The boosters only tried to be opportunistic once Plowman learned of the things going on. But you’re correct that the next coach will be handcuffed.

I think that we have to go offensive minded with Steele being here. So I will adjust my list accordingly...
1. Kiffin
2. Freeze
3. Napier (only if his AD comes with him)
4. Go back to number 1 and offer more money

The previous 2 seasons before he took over they were 28-2, so he was just kind of plug and play there. Now what he's done at Buffalo is impressive

No.

Those were the only 2 seasons they had even remotely close to that. The coach before him was there 1985-2006 and never won a national championship.

Leipold took them to a new level going 109-6 and won 6 national championships.

Disagree: she’s made it clear what she demands

What's she supposed to say?

"The next coach will be a high level cheater, because those are the standards at Tennessee. We'll have a national search and meet with the best and brightest sneaks this profession has to offer."

She did fine. We're trying not to get hammered here.

The paradox of this situation is that even though we keep getting worse and worse and further and further removed from our last successful period, a program like Tennessee is always just one hire away from getting the ship righted. I've never believed in this 5 or 7-year rebuild stuff that some people say.

Tennessee has a bunch of resources dedicated to football and a still-recognizable brand. It didn't take 5 or 7 years for Saban to right the ship at Alabama, and they had multiple years of probation, cycled through coaches, had to fire a coach prior to even coaching a game because he ran up a bar tab with strippers on a UA credit card, etc. It was bad, but they made the right hire and were a great team within 2-3 years.

"If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin', right fellas??" and leans back in her chair while smiling at Boyd and Fulmer, who start laughing.

It would make me feel better 😂
