Guys quit the hand-wringing over and trashing of Steele as HC. This is the same guy that the big money people at Auburn wanted. With that said, he will not be our HC beyond this interim period (which will not last more than a couple weeks). We would however be fortunate to have him as the new HC's DC. So quit trashing him as a coach. He came to our house of horrors to help us through this painful process. He is one of us, as he played for UT under Majors, and also coached here. He coached for a number of years under Tom Osborne and won a NC there. He coached under Saban. He was DC at LSU and Auburn. He is a well respected DC. I hope we can keep him in that role under the new HC.

Ingram will be announced as AD soon.
HC to follow within a week thereof. It will not be Steele.
My opinion only, but I am not alone.

How sure are you of Ingram at least? Is he leading Gilbert?

Drew is battling. He’s had pretty frequent blood transfusions due to his low counts. He has had chemo about every 3-4 weeks. It’s surprisingly not been as bad as I envisioned, but kids are a lot tougher than adults. He has had strength gains (Praise God) and recently started wanting to eat meals. He’s down quite a bit of weight. I’ll take the small victories right now (like the appetite returning) all day long. God is bigger than that though and this has drawn him so close to Him.

Maybe do some research on Kevin Steele. He’s an excellent defensive coach and recruiter.

So was Pruitt. You saw our defense this year. I'm not trying to argue, Ron, but I'm past hearing about how great "so-and-so" is only to watch them come here and fall flat on their face. How many coaches have we talked ourselves into the last 10-15 years? I'm tired of hearing about it, I want to SEE it. Hell, when Chaney was hired, people talked up him up as a great hire because of his past. Look at how we talk of him now. I'll believe it when I see it on the field.

Kind of, yes. Not as ubiquitous as it is today but could have done it if I wanted to.

And that's just an excuse anyway - every new generation has some new piece of tech or new trend that can be used as a reason for their silly behavior.

Sometimes when you hit rock bottom, you figure things out and finally start going up again.

Other times you break out the jackhammer and keep on diggin...

We'll find out what our course of action is gonna be pretty soon.

You think it’s Chadwell? If not, who’s your guess?

I'm starting to think it's Chadwell. It seems UT is setting this up for a young, offensive minded head coach to come in. He would have most of the defensive coaches (experienced SEC coaches/recruiters) in place and JC would fill out the offensive staff after he's officially hired. That makes sense to me.


I'd still rather have a bigger name with prior F5 or SEC experience but I think Chadwell could be good for us. IMO, he'd be a risky hire for UT at this time.

UT is the uncool kid that gets bullied. Leadership has made a mess of our program again and again and again for more than a decade. We just have to get past it. Someday we will. Until then, we're going to get picked on and ridiculed because we're an easy target. And despite everything, we still care so it gets a response... which is why the clickmeisters continue to do it.
