If it's Chadwell, I agree it's a big risk. I doubt he comes in and has immediate success. The best we could hope for is a "Dabo-like" build of the program. Clemson wasn't built overnight. Do we, as fans, have that kind of patience? Once upon a time, yes. I'm not so sure anymore. We've been living a nightmare for so long.
Tennessee is so bad and so far removed from our last successful period that I think most fans would kill for something like that. When he took over that job, Dabo was in a different spot than our new coach will be. Dabo inherited a pretty good program, one that had consistently won 8-9 games under Bowden, and they were looking for someone to get them over the top.

In Dabo's first full season, they went 6-2 in conference play and barely lost the ACCCG. His second full season wasn't great and he almost got fired, but then in his 3rd full season he won 10 games and played in a BCS bowl. If our new coach had Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl in year 3, we'd build him a statue at this point. It isn't like we've been an 8 or 9 win team lately.

Drew is battling. He’s had pretty frequent blood transfusions due to his low counts. He has had chemo about every 3-4 weeks. It’s surprisingly not been as bad as I envisioned, but kids are a lot tougher than adults. He has had strength gains (Praise God) and recently started wanting to eat meals. He’s down quite a bit of weight. I’ll take the small victories right now (like the appetite returning) all day long. God is bigger than that though and this has drawn him so close to Him. 🙌🏻

Thank you for asking. #LiftUpDrew

Thanks, LinVOL.

You're Texas and I'm Tennessee. One's the real UT; the other is an off-color imitation (like Rick Barnes' ties).

Guys quit the hand-wringing over and trashing of Steele as HC. This is the same guy that the big money people at Auburn wanted. With that said, he will not be our HC beyond this interim period (which will not last more than a couple weeks). We would however be fortunate to have him as the new HC's DC. So quit trashing him as a coach. He came to our house of horrors to help us through this painful process. He is one of us, as he played for UT under Majors, and also coached here. He coached for a number of years under Tom Osborne and won a NC there. He coached under Saban. He was DC at LSU and Auburn. He is a well respected DC. I hope we can keep him in that role under the new HC.

Ingram will be announced as AD soon.
HC to follow within a week thereof. It will not be Steele.
My opinion only, but I am not alone.:)

Agreed. I like Steele a lot as our DC.

My only problem with BOB is that his players didn't really seem to like him, and he acts like an absolute prick sometimes. But not in a funny or cocky way like Lane Kiffin.

Culture fit is overblown sometimes I think, but I could see that being an issue here.

He was pathetically awful as a GM, but that obviously shouldn't matter here.

As a coach though, he really is off the charts better than our last three hires. There really is no comparison at all.

Caldwell isn't in that group for college. Lane fits better than Caldwell imo.

Only mention Caldwell because of the Peyton influence and he has popped up on two sites boards so his name had to have been floated somewhere. He is wanting to coach again after taking 2020 off due to a health scare. Good coach and imo would stop the media laughing as he is so respected by them

Anyone else heard that O'Brien is already working on things for Bama (recruiting) and is expected to be announced as OC?
Thats a good hire for them (along with Marrone), and puts us in a bad spot with Simpson. Good thing Simpson grew up a UT fan or this would be a done deal.

Remember when our AD job was down to Currie and Blackburn? Remember who we hired?

Please sweet Baby Jesus, make it be different this time.

Maybe my memory is bad, but I don't remember Currie even really being in the discussion. It was Phil and Blackburn and then Currie got hired.

If Boyd says proven winner, does Kiffin really fall into that category? I think he would win big but technically he hasn’t proven it from a wins standpoint outside at FAU.

Makes me think BoB, Caldwell, Herman are part of the group. Steele/Garner being on staff would make sense for those 3 guys to help with recruiting the region.

He won 10 games at USC with a depleted roster. With him at HC and Steele at DC we wouldn't be winning 3 games in year 3.

I was under the impression that what really torpedoed his relationship with his players were his GM decisions, which he got control over just for that final season and was terrible at. Was he widely disliked by his players before that too?
