He probably would. But recruiting is only half of it. I think CBJ and CJP recruited pretty well.

I know Healy isn’t popular, but look at what he did at APSU. Built them up from ground zero.

Not saying Healy would ever happen, and I don’t think it would, or should, I just think it’s important to hire someone that isn’t learning the ropes in this situation.

Out of all our potential hiring lists, how many of them have won 11 games at a P5 program?

Fleck is all I have, though I could be missing someone.

Couldn't resist after I made the building with sticks comment. But seriously, Campbell needs to realize he's taken ISU about as far as they're able to go. I'm sure he dreams of taking them higher, but it's not happening there. That's reality, and he needs to face it. Whether it be here, or something bigger, he needs to start thinking about the next challenge and moving on. Or just be happy never being anything more than an afterthought.

I agree. The special ones recruit well, know how to efficiently run a large organization, and are great coaches and great at delegating.

He took friggin Minnesota and won 11 games--including a win against Auburn in the bowl game. Again, at Minnesota. That takes a lot of coaching talent.

He also took Western Michigan to 13-1 which is pretty incredible. Their only loss was an 8 point loss to No. 8 Wisconsin.

I will say he only has 2 ranked wins ever. Both in his big MN season where he beat #4 PSU and then #12 Auburn. Zero wins against ranked teams elsewhere

Now that most have given up on the idea of Freeze and Kiffin. I think most agree it Campbell and Fickell at the top of the list with Fleck next. After that, its wide open. I think Dave Clawson (yeah i know) could be successful here.

Other than PSU go look at the teams they beat and their records. And yes they still had to win the games and it was a good season.
