On Choice...

I have heard his name. Choice and Heupel were together for a year at Oklahoma. Choice has turned down other jobs this off-season. Choice's parents live in Atlanta and he's not had a lot of interest in leaving them. He just landed one of his top guys at running back for the class of 2022.

Here's the kicker, he makes 235k so he's definitely a guy you might land with some money.

Get your tissues ready. Peyton’s former coaches, including Cut, Dungy, and Fulmer surprise him in Denver.

What a legacy. I’m so proud of Peyton and the person he is. Just look at all the coaches’ lives he’s touched, not to mention fellow players and us fans.

Kerry Coombs (OSU’s current DC) has never called defensive plays either from what I can tell before this year, but he did pretty damn good. He was co-DC with Hafley in 2017, but doesn’t look like he called plays.

Good point. I’m all for Washington, especially if he can surround himself with a capable staff..

Thank goodness my wife hates period shows...especially period shows that are full of **** like that one.
Mine loves period dramas...sat through Poldark with her, but even she thinks Bridgerton is ridiculous. We just started watching Shooter series on Netflix. And to her credit, Dear Wifey likes it.

Reading up in Washington. Impressive stuff just hasn’t called plays. I noticed he was at Cincy with Willie M. I wonder if this is part of the Jancek stuff. Washington as DC with Jancek as Lb, Willie as DB. Jancek is a very good Lb coach and solid recruiter. Meh on Willie. Washington as some DL, LB and offensive coaching experience. I don’t know if he leaves being Ohio boy and long time friend of Day from Bc days

On FS article saying Washington could be paired with someone that has called plays...

Willie Martinez would make sense in that scenario to me. Martinez has called plays before. Knows Heupel. Has worked with other dc's before tying the front and back together. That's what he did with Jancek here.

So Hubbs says it’s Washington’s job if he wants it & some close to him believe he takes it.

Steele possibility to stay as LB coach/co-dc?
I think he takes it too.

A chance to finally be a DC and in the SEC.

if you really want to move up you take it in a heartbeat. It isn’t like going down a level to be a DC.

And he would walk into a decent roster that he could improve in 1-2 recruiting cycles

He's lived almost his entire life smokin' weed and he will freely admit it. It's a mystery that he still has a job covering basketball. His brain appears to be either dying or dead :):)
Agreed. Any anti drug program out there should show a non stop loop of Bill Walton calling games as a deterrent!
