Gus at UCF doesn't scream "stability" to me. If he has success there, everyone is going to be expecting him to jump back to a P5 job, and I'm sure Jimmy Sexton won't be doing anything to dissuade that perception.
He has $21M bucks in his pocket-----nobody knows what he's thinking except him and his financial advisor :):):)

His dad made it pretty clear he would only come back if transfer thing doesn’t pass. It likely didn’t matter who we hired

If he does not opt to be on the team then you shake his hand and wish him well. Between now and the start of the season, this coaching staff needs all players pointed in the same direction. They are either in the boat or they are not.

He is 77-38 in college ball playing Bama Georgia and LSU every year. He may not be Elite, but he does NOT suck.
You can go 77-38 and lose to those teams a lot. Which he did. But Whatever. It doesn't matter.

In two years. "Man, you were right Ten_Titans. Gus can't coach his way out of a paper bag and never could ever since his high school offense went the way of the Dodo."

Just gotta wait it out.

I also believe Henry T. stays if we hired House, Rodgers or Washington. I don’t know how to feel about him staying with Banks as the hire. He should be the #1 recruit of this new defensive staff by a long shot.

Wasn’t Kevin Simon a factor in getting To’o To’o here from de La Salle? Would it help us hold on To’o To’o if Simon ends up being his position coach?

The way his dad has handled this situation has left me feeling animosity towards HT. I wish he'd shut the hell up. If they, as a family, have reservations about not going somewhere else, then by all means GTHO!

True. But that's a matter of circumstance as much as anything.

Florida and Georgia sucked while Butch was here. When Butch got here Mizzou was winning the East.

It just isn't that division any more.
I don't hate him. I'll always remember the Dobb Nail Boot, but I'll also remember Kamara not getting much playing time. When you have that kind of talent, Florida/Georgia are down and you don't even go to the SEC championship game, then it falls back on the coach.

From Football Scoop Article.
You know if Banks comes here and kills it..all those milquetoast cowards that weren't confident enough in their abilities to take on this great paying job will always kick themselves for throwing millions of dollars and prestige away...

Welcome Mr. Banks 🙋‍♂️ I don't know much about you, but I know this...you had the guts to take on this job, and that is something to me.

Now...go kick some ass and whip these boys into shape.

I prefer to use my eyes and look at the actual stats and game film than trust what people say who follow PSU football - especially those that are now making excuses for losing their coach. PSU has been in program rebuild mode since their day of reckoning. Player development happened at PSU and we know CTB can recruit.

PSU
2019 - defense gave up 14.1 PPG
2018 - 20 PPG
2017 - 15.5 PPG
2016 - 23.4 PPG

For perspective, under Jeremy
2019 - 21.7 PPG
2018 - 27.9 PPG

Left out this past COVID year. So let's assume CTB has to overcome the B10 having less dynamic O's as a rule as well as being the co-DC there. Let's exclude the impact of CJH's fast break O since we have no comparable data to review. Does anybody doubt that CTB can do at least as good as Jeremy when we know he has Garner as his DL coach? If he can develop a D that can hold teams under 30 and CJH's O clicks - the wins will happen.

Even if this future staff does not do as well as they hope, the program will be in much better shape than it has for the past 15 years.
