I should clarify-- we want to throw long balls to players in orange. Throwing to the other team was not an effective offensive strategy for us last year, though Mark Stoops endorsed it wholeheartedly and will be sad to see us rethink the concept.
I guess we had to try it just to see. And, it only took about 11. 5 games last year to convince our staff. We are getting there.

Everytime I see "Heupel" my brain can adjust to "Hypel"

But if someone just types "Heup" it is always "Coach Hoop" and I prepare for something that relates to a '90s sitcom.

As much as you like the context of numbers, I am a little surprised that you haven't dug into Heupel's 6-4 season. He's paid to win, but there was quite a bit that contributed to the down year. And I seriously doubt he was on the hot seat if his UCF boss rehired him at UT.

And there is no small irony that Frost's UCF beat Gus's AU for the "national championship".

You probably missed it but I've had multiple posts that offer a reasonable explanation for the declining performance at UCF under Heupel. Explanations, no matter how seemingly reasonable, don't change the facts in a performance based business. I'm not sure reasonable explanations work for long at all at the P5 level. Time will tell.

As far as the hot seat hyperbole - things were most certainly heating up and I didn't find too many UCF fans sad to see Heupel leave.

As to Gus - my point is there's a ton less pressure at a G5 school as compared to an Auburn or Tennessee. This ain't Kentucky, yet. jmo.

I agree. Got to have arm strength but unfortunately just seen this to many times. I have to see it happen. I believe Milton has talent no doubt but he just didn't wow me like others and looks really raw like some of our own, Like I said I believe if anyone can develop Hype can just please let me see it for once is all I am saying.
You seem to be taking this pretty hard. Let's just let it play out. I totally get your skepticism. Most of us should have it after all we have been through since 2005. Let's see how it plays out. Agree that we need more help at LB.

Honestly for me I just hope Heupel is rolling well enough OU comes calling when Riley heads to the NFL in 4 or 5 years

Not sure if you're Josh'n or not, but IMO we shouldn't fear CJH flipping to OU if that opportunity comes (and praying that means he's rocking it here)

Not taking hard. I just don't see the wow factor in Milton but like I said in my post if anyone can develop I believe its Hype. What is hard is to believe it will happen. Thanks to Pruitt and JG. lol

Heupel will throw the deep ball 10-15 times a game no matter who the starter is. that's what he does. run, bubble screen, slant, curl, BOMBS AWAY!!
Like we've all said since the beginning, we may not be good but we're going to run an exciting offense so that'll be something fun to watch anyway
