NIL should take care of all that stuff. Guys are gonna get paid to attend the school of their choice ($$$) and everyone still has the 25 scholarship limit right now.The conference overall would be a winner simply because it would bring in more money and wield more influence. The losers would be teams like ourselves that are trying to rebuild IMO. And TAMU would probably be hurt in recruiting as one of their selling points to Texas recruits is playing in the SEC. If Texas could sell the same thing, that could sway some kids. Other than guaranteed money, not sure how this helps Texas or Oklahoma in the long run. They play in a weak conference. Oklahoma has been dominating it for awhile. Texas has a chance to rebound and compete with Oklahoma. Seems like their paths to championships would be easier there.
When all is said and done, I have to believe the key driver in all of this is the money.
AP bet his left nut that HB would not be the starter on the podcast today. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Same guy that swore up and down Cornbread would still be the coach here today.
Don’t know why AP feels the need to say such things. All it does is make him look like an ass.
He doesn’t. Never stops him tho.If he is right and somehow knows it for 100% certain, and we do not have a true and genuine QB competition come fall, then that would be a terrible sign for the beginning of this tenure.
That being said, I am going to choose to believe that AP is FOS here. If not, id be pretty damn dissapointed.
Pretty sure that isn’t sarcasm. It’s straight up lying. He didn't really bet his left nut, I'm just being sarcastic.
He basically said HB was super inconsistent all through the Spring and not impressive based on who he talked to in the program. And after his 30 second diatribe he says "But it might be HB, I'm not making any predictions". Lol.

This the landscape and path is totally different.I’m sorry @Bassmaster_Vol but I sort of disagree, although I’m with you in spirit, I just see an irreconcilably incomparable landscape of football now compared to Clemson’s rise. I was indifferent before the NIL, but now that that’s in effect and now conference realignment, I’m even more certain of our perpetual mediocrity. It’s really hard to see a path forward for Tennessee.
You know that phrase "reputations take a lifetime to build but you can lose them in a minute?" It seems like the inverse of that phrase is the deal with Gus.
We're like 35 pt favorites right? While I think we'll score a lot, I have this BVS bubbling up that we'll still give up 20-30 points like 2015 BGSU or Ga St. We'll win comfortably, but I could see us being ugly Week 1 on defense. Just don't see the alphas or playmakers (or chemistry) on that side. Who are the pass rushers and disruptors? We have a couple decent ones, but not a Barnett or Sutton either (notice no Pruitt guys were selected eff that guy).Vols 49

He has a reputation as an offensive/QB guru that he built in a relatively short period of time, and it has persisted for years despite a lack of success/development at that position.
Relegation and promotion is awesome! Would love to see how Vandy does in the AAC and UCF/Memphis/Cincy does in the SEC. Would be interesting. That's what the premier league does in soccer....the lower division winner moves into the upper level league for the year. The weaker team is redelegated to the lesser league to make the room.
