This move would make our rise harder. I don’t care what people say, 9-3 with cupcakes is better for perception than 7-5 with harder games.

Agreed. I’m not for it, but what’s done is done. We’re just going to have to learn more patience because this will make Heupel’s job even harder. I think the biggest consideration is timing. Will OU and Texas join in Fall 2022 or is this going to take a few years? If we don’t see them till 2023 or 2024 maybe Heupel can have us in a much better position by then.

Because, ya know, folks want "good games". For one, I would not count getting dragged by OU right now to be a "good game".

And those pesty G5/FCS games can literally keep smaller regional programs ALIVE. But eff them, right? We just need 30 powerhouse programs to make billions...cut off the fat...that's seemingly all that matters anyway. We could just kill off the whole B12 at this point. Who cares about them? Then cut out the Pac12...too far from "the SEC"...aka NCAA... maybe one day they'll boot us out and just have a 12-team "greatest teams" conference.

I'm sure this will help us...I mean hey at least we'll have $10mm more to beat our chests over 🙄

Let's just go bash our heads in for 12 games and go 4-8 against the most absurd schedule we can assemble each year. I'm sure recruits will look at our #1 SOS and not the record. And schools like Michigan, OSU, Clemson, FSU will skate by at 9-3+ every year and look like gods while having a shot to actually raise banners (division, conference, etc). Odds of us ever winning a conference title in my lifetime would start looking grim. Yeah...sounds fun 😑

Seriously-- and the power T, too.

The University of Texas has reached a settlement with the University of Tennessee over the use of the ''UT'' trademark on such items as T-shirts, beer mugs, key chains and customized toilet seats.

Texas said a possible court dispute loomed because Tennessee had applied to the federal government for the right to use the trademark on a number of items not covered under Texas' trademark rights.

Under the agreement between the two schools, Tennessee gets to use the trademark east of the Mississippi River and in Louisiana's West Baton Rouge Parish, home of Southeastern Conference member Louisiana State University.

Texas will own the trademark everywhere else west of the Mississippi.

In addition, the agreement gives the Longhorns and Volunteers limited rights to use the popular interlocking UT logo design in each other's territory during bowl games or other special events.

A staff recommendations to the Texas Board of Regents said the solution was not ideal, but ''it does avoid a costly and protracted administrative and court proceeding.''

@nicksjuzunk tweaked my back finishing a pull on one of my light sets late last week. Rested it a couple of days and then re-tweaked it two days ago. Any suggestions for rehab exercises to get it loosened up?
edited to say retweaked it just picking up a dumbbell. Wasnt deadlifting at the time.
Not an expert, but am an expert back puller. The best stretch I picked up from PT is to stand by a wall about a foot or so away, facing parallel to the wall. Lean toward the wall and put your forearm against the wall, then put your opposing hand on your hip and lean your core toward the wall while keeping your feet steady. Hold for about 10 seconds at a time and lean further in as is comfortable, at least 3 times each side. I still remember the first time I did this at PT...went from walking like a hunchback to walking 90% upward right away.

Other good stretch is Cobra Pose. Just google that one, simple. Walking is also good, even though it sucks in that state. Should release the pinched nerve to a degree and help recover faster.

I'm also an expert re-tweaker. If you go to PT they can actually put a device on your spine that will not allow you to have a bad posture or lean forward. Great way to learn. Otherwise, just keep in mind to never lean over...use your legs. Makes a huge difference. Went 2 years before recently pulling it. Before PT it was nearly every 6 months. I feel your pain 😪

Not transmission related, but my wife's 2008 Altima 2-door coup developed the "melting dashboard" fiasco a few years ago. We bought it new. When we took it to the dealership we bought it at, they sympathised with us but said since it was out of warranty, there was nothing they could do and we would be on our own to replace it, even though on bright sunny days it is a safety hazard from the glare in your eyes, lol. My wife did some deeper research and found on the internet where Nissan had settled a huge class-action suit over this issue with customers who resided and purchased their cars in Texas or Florida only. Since we bought it and reside in Tennessee, we are sol! We ended up calling and sending letters with pics attached to Regional Directors and lastly to the VP of North America division but nothing but dear john responses. I told my wife I would never look at or step foot in another Nissan dealership again.
OH wow I am so glad you said this. My 12 Altima has this horrendous glare on the windshield, even after I replaced it, it came right back. It's a thin film on the inside. It's impossible to clean. I've said for years that's it's from the plastic dashboard vaporizing and depositing on to the windshield, and everyone says I'm crazy. I'd heard about it on some sketchy forum, but I'm so glad that my suspicion is actually a real thing.

Funny how the “inconsistency” didn’t show up during the Orange and White game when he hit ever throw. Even smoked one in on a slant that the receiver didn’t catch that should of been caught.
It must have some truth to it bc it is obvious the staff had him 3rd going into that game….. hopefully, HB plays like he did in the orange and white game consistently.

It’s happening. I might as well just accept it. I hate the idea of it but money rules all. Welcome to the SEC, Horns and Sooners.

@Devo182 you should read the Thamel article @TheMookieMonster posted above. The earth is shifting underneath our feet, and we won’t be jumping off for the ACC, which is locked into a terrible deal with ESPN through 2036.

inversion table.
How does that work - you do it regardless of your back being pulled/injured or do you just use it once your injured?

My case is that my back is perfectly fine outside of injuries. But I do pull it every so often. Do you think it would be beneficial for me or more for those with chronic back pain?

Somehow programs like Oklahoma State and Baylor played on New Years bowls with those programs in the fold and starting over…Baylor twice. Unless they fork out a huge amount of dough, this happens in 2025.

Sounds depressing. I'll pass.

This TX/OU news is bad enough as is. Seriously never felt McGill type feelings over anything related to football, but this is doing it. Absolute shortsighted greed with no view of how CFB moves forward when 1 conference has 16 teams, 8 or 9 in the top 25 all the time...while the Big 12 has 8 teams and nary a contender in sight. Such a joke. Need to go to some national parks asap. Nature understands balance and longevity...man, not so much 😪

Personally, with Texas and Okie joining I think we will see more parity, not less, in the SEC. This is a big deal. Increased competition is a good thing - iron sharpens iron. Buck up, weenies.

Bama won't get a month to prepare for Okie like during the playoffs. They will have a week like everybody else. And let's not go into the big bad Ohio State or Clemson has it made garbage. They don't get a pass into the finals of the playoffs with 12 teams. They will get exposed. I doubt Clemson can sustain anyway as we get our act together.

I agree here. Tennessee in its present condition is a bottom tier program in a super conference. And staying in the super conference may keep Tennessee there.

Oklahoma doesn’t have the horses to hang with Bama in its present condition. Bama will chew through them like they do everyone else. I think this does more to solidify Bama at the top.
